9.5oz Back Sateen Type M-43 Field Jacket - Black

The original US Army M-1943 is often considered to be the godfather of the modern military “Field Jacket” — setting a blueprint for all that followed and serving as a predecessor to the iconic M-65. Its design significantly improved upon the inadequate M-41 from a few years earlier, offering a wider array of pockets, fuller body coverage, and a roomier fit that could be layered with a wool liner for warmth during WWII and later the Korean War.

New for FW26, Iron Heart’s take on the M-43 honours its heritage while updating the design with a few typical over-engineered upgrades. Made from vintage-style 9.5oz back sateen fabric — pigment-dyed to allow for gradual, low-contrast fading over time — we’ve fitted the jacket with a Japanese Ventile lining for an added layer of water resistance, oversized four-hole buttons to ensure secure fastenings, and poly/cotton stitching throughout for strength. The result is a versatile, functional and highly durable outer layer that doesn’t compromise its authentic 1940s military styling.
