This version of our traditional rider’s jacket is handmade from 1.3mm Japanese cowhide, which has been heavily oiled to provide improved waterproofing for the wearer and long-term protection for the leather. Sourced from Himeji, the tanning capital of Japan, the chrome-tanned hide is more supple than the horsehide used for our IHJ-35 jacket, with the oiling process further softening the leather to create an incredibly smooth, buttery feel.

This single-breasted rider’s jacket is fitted with a water-resistant Japanese Ventile lining for comfort, and features heavy-duty zippered gussets at the cuffs and hem, an overspec’d two-way main zipper, and a snap-fastening mandarin-style collar to complete the café racer–inspired aesthetic.

- Crust leather is then dyed and heavily oiled to produce a water-resistant coating

- Water-resistant 6.2oz Japanese Ventile cotton lining

Waterproof Leather

- Crust leather that has been dyed and heavily oiled and treated to increase it's waterproof qualities and give and soft, supple hand feel

- Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth. For light dirt, use a slightly damp cloth with a mild soap, but avoid excessive moisture. If it does get wet, blot the leather dry with a cloth and leave to air dry naturally — never dry with a heater or hairdryer
