Based on the classic Levi’s 501 from 1955, this cut provides a similar fit to our relaxed tapered 888 style, with a more traditional silhouette. To achieve this, the 1955 cut features a slightly higher front rise, a fuller knee, and a little less taper to the hem. This means that — just like the highly coveted vintage Levi’s that came before them — these jeans offer a relaxed yet flattering fit for most body types, seen here in our signature 21oz selvedge denim.

Utilising a double-twisted weft yarn and lower tension weave, our 21oz denim fabrics are heavy and tough, while softer and more breathable than other heavyweight weaves — creating a pair of jeans that mould to the wearer’s body shape like no other.

21oz Japanese Selvedge Denim - Indigo

- The first-ever Iron Heart denim, our signature weave

- 100% cotton
- Woven with a double twisted weft yarn

- Right-hand twill weave
- This denim will fade naturally through wear and washing

- 4-button fly (extra button added due to the higher rise)
- Iron Heart branded tack button at waistband

- Works Inc branded pocket rivets

- Hidden rivets on rear pockets
- Poly/cotton stitching for increased strength

- Single and double needle chain stitch construction
- Belt loops anchored at three points and sewn into the waistband

- Please note: Continued washing (especially at higher temperatures) may cause shrinkage and deformities

Fabric Focus

Sanforized & One-Washed

- Sanforization is a post-weave mechanical process which removes most potential shrinkage from a fabric before garment construction
- To further reduce the risk of shrinkage, we wash the completed garment in an aggressive industrial washing machine. This process removes virtually all potential shrinkage.
- No further shrinkage is expected when washed according to our care guidelines

Stretch Details

- The waist will stretch out approximately 1" with wear. All other dimensions that are put under pressure will stretch proportionally to the waist


Care Guidelines

- We recommend washing this garment at 30°C with a low (or no) spin cycle. Hang dry, do not tumble dry
