7.5oz Loopwheel Garment Dyed T-Shirt - Black

Our 7.5oz loopwheel cotton T-shirts are made from 100% cotton, knitted on vintage "tsuriam-ki" machines in Wakayama, Japan — one of only two factories in the world still manufacturing authentic loopwheel cloth. This low-tension, circular knitting technique produces soft, tubular fabric, allowing garments to be constructed without any side seams. Each T-shirt is then cut and sewn in the historic Shitamachi ("Old Town") district of Tokyo.

Unlike our printed models, this version is garment-dyed, meaning the T-shirt is dyed after it has been constructed (with the exception of the hem tag, which is sewn on afterwards). As the dye doesn't penetrate as deeply into the fibres as it does in yarn-dyed fabrics, the result is a pleasingly irregular hue with a gently faded, vintage aesthetic from the outset — one that will continue to mellow and develop with wear.

Please note that the garment dyeing process results in slight shrinkage, meaning this model will fit approximately half a size smaller than our standard 7.5oz loopwheel T-shirts.
