5.5oz Indigo Check Short Sleeved Work Shirt - Blue

This short-sleeved version of our traditional work shirt is made from a lightweight 5.5oz cotton cloth, offering a cooler and more breathable option for the warmer seasons.

The darkest shades in the classic check pattern are indigo-dyed, while the lighter colours are created using a process we call “colour-true fade” dyeing. This is a reactive dyeing method that achieves a rich, saturated hue which — unlike conventional reactive dyeing — allows the fabric to mellow and fade over time. However, in contrast to made-to-fade sulphur-dyed fabrics, which often shift in tone as they age (for example, sulphur-dyed greens can develop a prominent yellow cast), this process preserves the original hue, ensuring an even fade that lightens in intensity without any unwanted colour drift.

Combined with indigo-dyed yarns, the overall fabric is designed to fade and mellow with a pleasing vintage patina — finished with all the hallmarks of our work shirt, including open chest pockets with a pen holder and sturdy four-hole button fastenings throughout.
