16oz Natural Indigo Selvedge Denim M65 Field Jacket

IHM-42-IND

The original M65 jacket was initially designed in 1965 as a cold weather field coat for the US military - but this is no ordinary M65. Taking the classic cut - complete with four large patch pockets and a hooded collar - we’ve constructed this unique take on the M65 from natural indigo dyed, 16oz selvedge denim. Hand dyed in Tokushima, Japan, the use of natural indigo results in a denim with a richer colour compared to more commonly used synthetics. A very labour-intensive process (hence the more limited nature of natural indigo denim), the dye also takes a lot longer to start fading. However, when the yarns do eventually start to give up their indigo, the denim will develop beautiful fade patterns with lots of contrast. Finished with 8-wale corduroy lining on the collar and cuffs, leather drawstrings and an over-spec’d YKK zipper, this is a very special, extremely limited run jacket.

Fabric Focus

Sanforized & One-Washed

- Sanforization is a post-weave mechanical process which removes most potential shrinkage from a fabric before garment construction
- To further reduce the risk of shrinkage, we wash the completed garment in an aggressive industrial washing machine. This process removes virtually all potential shrinkage.
- No further shrinkage is expected when washed according to our care guidelines

Stretch Details

- The waist will stretch out approximately 1" with wear. All other dimensions that are put under pressure will stretch proportionally to the waist

Care Guidelines

- We recommend washing this garment at 30°C with a low (or no) spin cycle. Hang dry, do not tumble dry
