Unlike our upcycled “Swatch” bags, which are created from mixed-fabric offcuts saved from our hemming process, the Project RE:LOVE “Solo” bag uses the same patchwork pattern but with denim from a single pair of pre-worn Iron Heart jeans. 

The bag shown is made from 17oz natural indigo selvedge denim, taken from a pair of pre-owned 555 cut jeans that did not meet our standards to be resold as a complete RE:LOVED garment. The usable denim has been reworked into a reversible tote-style bag, complete with the jeans’ original leather patch and a cotton lining reclaimed from a 7.5oz loopwheel T-shirt. 

Each RE:LOVE bag is handmade in Gosport, England, using the same vintage machines we rely on daily: Union Special for chain stitching, Singer darner and flat stitcher for reinforcement, and a 5-thread overlocker set to Iron Heart Japan specs. Straps are triple-stitched and the opening is secured with heavy-duty Iron Heart copper snaps for strength and longevity.

Project RE:LOVE is our initiative to extend the life of unwanted or retired Iron Heart clothing. However, not all pre-worn items we receive are in good enough condition to be resold as RELOVED garments — but that doesn’t mean their journey ends there. In our commitment to sustainability and waste reduction, unsellable jeans that would otherwise end up in landfills are upcycled into a range of unique, handcrafted accessories.

- Spot clean only — washing may cause shrinkage and distortion
- Not returnable if washed — washing is done at your own risk
- Expect panels to wear, fade, and soften in completely unique combinations
