While most of our denim is dyed using a synthetic, or “pure” indigo dye, this 17oz fabric is woven with a natural indigo-dyed warp yarn. Arguably the most authentic way of colouring denim, the pigment for the dye is derived organically from the leaves of the Indigofera plant. Throughout this labour-intensive process, we rope-dye the yarns 30 times, which is considerably more than the 8-10 times when using a synthetic dye.

This results in a noticeably richer appearance which is stubborn but very rewarding to fade—a pair of natural indigo jeans is a must-have in any purist’s denim collection.
