14oz Broken twill selvedge denim - indigo

First pioneered by Wrangler in 1964, broken twill denim was developed to combat fabric twist, caused by the directional torque generated during the weaving process. Whereas most denim is woven with either a right or left-hand twill—meaning the weave runs in one continuous direction—broken twill denim has the twill threads reversing every two warp ends.

Weaving denim in this way eliminates any bias in either twill direction, creating a more flexible fabric and greatly reducing leg twist in jeans or arm twist in jackets. Our mid-weight 14oz broken twill selvedge denim is produced with a rope-dyed indigo warp yarn and a white weft, fading with vintage Tate-Ochi vertical fades due to the reversing weave pattern.
