@Nskelton @Jordan23 here are may pair after 100 wears and two washes. Original measurements first:
Waist 34 - 35.3
Front Rise 11 -11.2
Back Rise 16 - 16.1
Thigh 12.5 - 12.6
Knee 8.25 - 8.3
Hem 7.75 -7.8So the waist stretches for sure, but the rest only stretches when they are on leg. It then springs back when they are unworn.
-
@Neph93. From your experience a pair with a 13.5 thigh measurement will be flexible enough to accomodate 14 inch actual thigh measurement? Without fillind too tight? I am just trying to grasp the amount of stretch that they will give you.

Just so I'm clear, do you mean that your actual thigh measures 14" or that you normally take 14" measurements in you IH jeans?

Thx neph93 ! I d go with the 34 but need 13inches on thighs (they actually measure that). Would it be wearable in your opinion? Or should I wait for the 888 and size down?
Thanks in advance!

@Neph93. I need 13.8 and over thigh measument on a non stretch. Anything under that is just tight and will never lossen enough to be comfortable. So usually i start with a pair that is 13.8 and end up with around 14.3 or so after they stretch. But i was thinking with Shinayaka i could possible start with a pair in the 13.3 to 13.5 range and get them to work because of the stretch they have.

I would say it was borderline for you. You would fit into them, but it would be tight. I do not think you would have the discomfort you would have had with non stretch denim though.
I think it is worth mentioning that the knee measurements are important with the 555. A jean with a 13.5" thigh on a 634 feels a lot more comfortable than the same thigh on a 555 because of the taper from thigh to knee.
-
You are absolutely right. I didn't think about that. I am one of those that has to size up on 888 vs 634 just because of that reason. I need the knee close to 9.8 and up. I will wait for the 888 cut. Thank you!

Congratulations ^
Hope you could share your experience.

Was able to try these on at Berkeley Supply, tag 36 felt snug in the thigh with a bit of difficulty doing the top button. Tag 38 was roomy and could fit my finger between the pant. Couldn't choose..

Is it possible to fall in love with the OG 210z denim all over again? I think the answer is yes. I am only on day 2 here but so far as I am concerned these are a gigantic win. Slim cuts have never been my thing, I got them lovable thighs, but I always want something in slim cut anyway. I suspect I am not the only one in this camp. This denim makes it not only possible but trending towards quite comfortable for me to get into something like a 555. There are very very subtle differences between this and the OG 21 but you would be really hard pressed to find anything significant, appearance wise, from what I am seeing. Not sure what else I can say that has not already been said, thank you @neph93, but if you’re considering giving this Shinayaka denim a try I say DO IT!!
Shit pics, shit light, pre coffee, and a totally awesome 8 year old aspiring photographer on an equally old iphone…but you get the jest.

The jeans look great @zhivago I am pretty jelly. I'll bet they are so comfortable.

Thanks Mike!! I am definitely surprised/stoked on just how comfortable they actually are.
