WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY (PICS)

What're you building?
By the way, that is a beautiful planer you've got there.I'm turning into such a tool nerd; i complimented a guy over on SuFu for his hammer…
-
Nice.
I honestly didn't see that one coming…

My wife has decided that I need to do more projects around the house, which has allowed me to justify buying new and better tools. I'll have to figure out which project absolutely cannot be done properly without one of those.;)
I'm looking forward to seeing your final results; hopefully it will be as you envisioned it.

I have to confess, right now I'm scheming for a router.

Hey Urbs, what kind of camera are you using. I'm looking around.
That was with a Canon 1Ds

What I've been doing the last week:
We went to Iceland with a bunch of friends, had an absolutely awesome time even though it was quite cold. Luckily my IHSH-32 kept me nice and warm most of the days. I totally fell in love with this crazy country, so bear with the pic heavy post..
A view on the way into town from the airport.
Took a walk down to the sea the first evening, the scenery is mindblowing.
The cars were the most badass ever.
Took a trip along the Golden circle, went to Thingvellir (a place were they had local legislative gatherings a long time ago), Gullfoss, a huge waterfall and checked out the geysirs as well ( the biggest active one being Strokkur).
These are from Thingvellir:
Strokkur:
Gullfoss:
Spent the night at a Farmhouse next to Eyjafjallajökull (the location where the ashcloud fecked up all of Europe in 2010), where one of my friends lived ten years ago for some time. After dinner (ate both lamb and foal from that particular farm, amazing!) we took the 4x4 and drove through the dunes to check out the sunset. So cool! The sand on the beach was pitch black, the sunset absolutely mindblowing, the offroading totally badass, I was sure we were gonna get stuck in the sand but the driver knew what he was doing. We even spotted a seal swimming close to the beach, probably wondering what the hell we were up to
The next morning we started with a ride on Icelandic horses, I've only ridden once in my life before this so I wasn't too confident in my skills but everything went perfectly well. I laughed so much that I had tears in my eyes when I saw this picture of me riding, because I can assure you that the horse felt a lot bigger than it looks like in the pictures. It looks like the horse is my size and my boots are almost scraping the ground. I imagined myself more like this badass cowboy.. Oh well, it was a really cool thing to do anyway
After that we drove to the glacier but had to turn around before we got there. Made it a kilometre after this sign and the road was indeed impassable.. Well, at least we tried. Should have taken the 4x4, not the rental car..
Some random pictures to finish things up.
Another beautiful waterfall:
Downtown Reykjavik:
Had to try out a local snack, dried fish. It was fecking horrible, the taste was really bad and saltless, had to wash it down with local beers and brennvin (local booze) and ended up having the worst hangover in a decade the next morning. Spent the day soaking in a natural hot lagoon, no pics but it was awesome.
Good times!

Awesome post Jii. I've always wanted to go to Iceland but the reputed cost of the place puts me off a little. Looks stunning though.
