@Filthy25ozJunkie:
I'm pretty excited that I am going to work in South Africa, and not to excited to be going back to Qatar.
My brother was deployed to Qatar when he was in the military. He said the heat was brutal, especially when he had to wear his bdu's.

I was just in Saudi for a month and it was so hot. It is really gonna be hot now. But I don't think I am going to Qatar any longer.

Jeez. Don't know how you can tolerate the heat. I'm so glad to be living in a state with 4 seasons

There's four?!

Phoenix has four-
1. "This isn't really that hot"
2. "Yeah, this sucks, but at least it's not summer yet"
3. "Oh my god, I'm going to die"
4. "Well, it's hot, but at least it's not summer anymore" -

Besides, if you want spring, fall, or a real winter, just drive a couple of hours north. Flagstaff is beautiful this time of year.

I was just going to say that Flagstaff is only 2 hours north. Hopefully my daughter ends up going to college there too.
Also, California beaches are only 6 hours away.

And Vegas about a 45 minute flight away. Not that the Vegas climate is much better but point being that Phoenix's location ain't too shabby.

The only upside to living in a warm state is that you're saving tons of $ on winter gear.

I'm guessing there's no need for heavy duty winter coats is there? how cold does it get in Phoenix?

Oh no there isn't, you're right about that. I was just poking fun at myself because I still by tons of IH gear.
It doesn't get nearly as cold as it does in other parts of the country I'm sure, but I believe it gets much colder here than people may think. I've heard visitors mention it several times. The desert can be surprisingly cold at night in the winter. Mid to high 20's is the coldest I can remember it getting at my house in recent years. Believe it or not it has snowed twice in my lifetime in Phoenix. Probably nothing measurable and it melted when it hit the ground but still, it snowed. Last time was about 10 years ago.

Fair enough. I assumed it got in the 40's at its coldest. And being that we're on the IH forum we now have to enable you to pick up an ihm-14 and ihv-22 lol
