How do these boots fits compared to Redwing Moc toes and Iron Ranger ? I'm a 9.5US in sneakers of any kind Nike and NB and sized down a full size for a 8.5D in Red Wings, could a 9E fits me correctly ?
-
@hdblk @Nkwkfld @Andreas1965 @Chesson
A guy from the division road told me by mail to go 1 size and a half down from my brannock / sneakers size so from 9.5US to 8…, or half a size down from my Red wing size so from 8.5D to 8 also... 8 looks sooo small, can i ask you guys your sneakers / redwing sizes ? and what's your size for these Wesco ? to see as a comparison if the general equation from the Wesco guy works correctly... If i order from France to USA the taxes and duty will be heavy and returning these shoes is not an option, i have to one shot this

@Raisinoux I wear size 11 in new balance and vans. 10 in red wing iron rangers/moc toe. 9.5D in Wesco Jobmaster. Hope that helps.

@Raisinoux I got a US9.5D in these if I remember correctly, but they didn't end up working out because I've got a weird foot shape and am picky about how footwear fits.
Might be worth asking DR to measure the removable leather inserts and send that to give you a comparison with something you have already, similar to how IH advises sizing clothing. The caveat is that of course there's lots of variance there with last shape.
From what I understand the jobmaster is accommodating to a lot of foot shapes, so if you are like most people it will be great.
These are a beautiful pair of boots that I would highly recommend.

Thank you for your answers guys ^^
@Kirk @Matt So going with my RW size or 0.5 down would work, that's what recommand me the guy at Wesco, i will go down from my RW 8.5D to a 8 with Wesco and cross my fingers.
As @Nkwkfld suggested i have asked them to send me the insole length to see if it matches with my iron rangers, i also asked the outsole length given it's the same kind of flat vibram outsole RW use for Moc Toes, if numbers alignes correctly i will take their last size ^^
Thanks again -

Thanks againOf course. No problem.
If they’re a little tight initially, you can always wear them without the insert to break ‘em in. -
Here is the answer i have received from their customer service…
""Based off the information you’ve provided, we’re almost certain you will be a Size 8 in the 65 Last utilized on the Wesco x Iron Heart x Division Road AWC Foreman in the Black and Brown CXL Horsehide and this should be a good fit and pretty relatable to how your Red Wings feel on foot, being a work boot type of last. There really is no way the Size 9 in this style would work for you, as they would be quite large and roomy on foot, based of the information provided.
We know that Wescos Lasts are a bit all over the map in terms of sizing, however the 65 and 9165 Lasts are true to the old sizing grade our makers are on. As you mentioned, taking a full size (1) down from your sneakers into Red Wings, and then a half (0.5) size down from their into Wescos and this older sizing grade actually is pretty accurate and makes sense with your sizings.
Further, we do not provide outsole measurements as this is an inaccurate method of sizing hand grade, re-buildable footwear. The edges of this footwear from welt down through midsole and sole, are hand and machine trimmed. As a result of the handmade nature of this heavily built product, if measuring the outsoles of two pairs of the same boot in the same size, you can have 3-4 mm variation in length and up to 2mm in terms of width, which for insole dimensions would be considered a half (.5) size difference.
Each of these Lasts are designed with a different shape from toe to heel for aesthetic and fit purposes which makes sizing by dimensions a very inaccurate method of comparison for what are very complicated 3D objects, especially across various brands/makers that all have a different formula of last development for various fit profiles.
Insole measurements are also a very inaccurate method of sizing, as each last is designed to fit the foot differently and have a certain aesthetic and is accurately more about volume than it is even length and width. Hence, if comparing length, width, ball points, and a host of other dimensions you cannot determine a good match from foot to Last and size by some basic insole measurements, as in the end this is matching two very complicated 3D objects to each other.
This is really about finding the right Last and Size that matches your foot shape, and that is done with the most success by comparing other footwear and getting detailed information about how those fit and feel on your foot. We triangulate as much information as we can get, and while semi-anecdotal, this is still the best method of sizing this footwear remotely. We are professionals in the footwear arena and specifically aim to give you the best possible chance of success with a good track record of doing so by dedicating a lot of energy to providing proper and considered customer service.
I hope this information helps and please let us know if you have any questions, as we’re always here to assist. We hope to be sending this amazing Wesco x DR x AWC collab your way soon!
Best Regards,
Lauren""
