@Chap i washes my indigo ones and my white slp canvas sneakers. Put em without laces in an empty pillow case and minimum spin/ 20 degrees c
Worked out great
Thank you very much for sharing! Will do it that way, the white ones now really need a cleaning
I am have mine in the wash at the moment using this method. They were pretty dirty, especially the heels. I will miss the indigo crocking but know it'll be back again. I'll report back how they turn out.

@Oaktavia You're an art teacher, specialist...use that palette.
I love this excuse to dress how I want to. I hear this often- just wear it! You're an art teacher. It never gets old.

Shoes came out pretty white and clean. The heels still had a bit of staining but not as bad. I figured with white shoes, they won't be totally white for long. Washing machine can't make them like new. But much cleaner than before. I had put them in an old pillowcase but by the end of the load, they had fallen out. No biggie. I have old hand towels stuffed into the shoes to try to soak up some water as they dry. All good though with machine washing. I will probably be doing this once a week or every two weeks. I like to wear them to work so I don't want them looking too dirty, which is my main motivation in the washing. Once summer hits they'll probably be washed less.
Edit: I have been reading online about how to help shoes like converse dry faster. Apparently stuffing old newspapers in the shoes helps. I have a stack next to my wood stove. So I'm giving it a go. Trying to wear them to work tomorrow but not counting on it.

@Oaktavia i had a pair of catchball picnic canvas sneakers years ago. They were white and I wore them every day to work, on light hikes or walking the dog... Kept them pretty white with this method for at least two years or so... Then I spilled tomato sauce all over them, washig did not help with that anymore

@FlavourFade oh nooo! At that point I would just overdye them.
