634B&SRAW - 16oz Loomstate Indigo Selvedge Straight Cut
-
So, I'm in the IH club now, finally. I've spent about a year on the IH site going from style to style trying to decided which is best. Luckily, the 634B&S RAW came along which fits my needs perfectly.
I took some pictures pre-soak which I'll put up, then soaked them in a tub of hot water for an hour agitating them periodically. The denim bled a decent amount which required me to scrub the tub (or incur the wrath of my wife). I hung them up for a few hours then became impatient and directed a fan towards them to speed the process. They stood on their own as you'll see in the pictures.
The waist shrunk about an inch and has stretched back out quickly. The thighs shrunk around 0.5 inches and I lost around an inch and a half on the inseam.
Overall, after the soak, they stretched out quickly to my figure and softened to some extent.

The barefoot pictures are presoak with a double fold on the pant legs. The pictures with the boots are with a small single fold post-soak after about four hours of wear around the house.
There is a very small amount of leg twist but a casual observer would just think it is the way the pants fall.

@Cali Do the jeans fit like 634s or 666s post-soak?
-
They have a lower rise than most 634's though which is why I've hesitated on these.

What's the loss of length like in the inseam with these? The product page says 2", but people are reporting 1" to 1.5".
I'm always a bit nervous with raw jeans as I've had a couple of pairs where the shrinkage has resulted in them being too short. I think that they should be fine, as ideally around a 34.5" to 35" inseam works best for me.

It's been a very long time since I browsed through this fit page.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to wear the jeans much as my thighs have gotten bigger as my exercise routine changed and the pants are about 1/2 and inch too tight in the thigh now to fit well. Luckily, the jeans are amazing and waiting for the time when they'll fit again. I don't want to wear them just to wear them and blow out the crotch.
However, to answer the shrinkage question, I lost around 1.5 to 2 inches on the length when I soaked them. (check the pictures)

Well, I've been traveling for the last several weeks so have slimmed down about 5 pounds. The good news is, these jeans now fit perfectly!
I've been wearing them the last week and remember why I like them so much… except one point. I live in the Gulf, and these jeans do not breathe very well at all. Sadly, they may only have a week or so more of wear before they get shelved again till I move back to the US in the fall.
But, anyone considering picking up a pair, I strongly recommend. Yeah the back rise is low, but after some wear, they soften up.

I'm in the same boat as you @Cali . I need to lose at least another 5 lbs to fit into these again.
That said, I wish these had been more popular. This is my favorite denim from IH, next to the classic 21oz indigos. I do hope the team reads this and considers offering some more raw options or expanding the 18oz 666 denim to other cuts. Nothing is as fun and exciting as a new pair of raws. And by raw I mean raw.
