WESCO

Pulled the trigger on a pair of black harness boots. I made a big gamble because I didnt try a pair on before. They will be my winter riding boots as I'm tired of ruining my nice cowboy boots during the wet and damp months in Paris, ie about 8 months a year… I hesitated a long time between those and Chippewas, but the Wescos look even sturdier.

Those black Boss boots pictured above were my go to boot when walking around Paris. I actually brought walking shoes with me on that trip, but they couldn't keep up with the 7-8 miles a day we were walking. I had to switch to my wescos. They've been just wonderful in all types of weather, and always keep my feet dry.

Well they told me the black fire is the same thickness as their other leathers except the black tie so i'm ok with the stiffness. They'll give in eventually.
Wesco only uses roller buckles in japan, but you can provide your own. Here is the kind i got. You have to order them from japan. http://mydenimlife.com/blog/whats-in-a-buckle/
You can check them out at the link. They were only about $30

I'd go with the black laces and no kiltie, but other than that personal aesthetic difference, those are fantastic looking.

Not advice, just my preference. They're your boots, so wear them how you like them. Feel free to tell me to keep my unsolicited opinions to myself.

Those look great Friday, no matter how you wear them. I got three pairs from their factory seconds page,
two pairs were new and one pair had a tiny oil spot on the tongue gusset…Can't see a fly on a running horse!
