Samples - New Products We Are Working On
-
In a previous life, I made and sold Titanium Fly Fishing reels. Well, I did not make them myself but had them made by a couple of craftsmen in the Town of Kharkiv in Ukraine. Kharkiv was pivotal in the USSR's manufacturing of stuff for the space race and military weapons. So they had/have some extremely talented engineers who are good at working with Titanium. Come the fall of the wall, many of them were twiddling their thumbs. I got a couple of them untwiddling their thumbs. One of the reels we made was priced at USD10,000 - we only made 30
Anyway, I had an idea and contacted one of them and asked him to machine me some Titanium N1 buttons.
Full metal jacket pimpage.
Here are the first samples….
Pricing yet to be determined, but don't worry, they'll be reassuringly expensive...
And here are some of the reels (and a titanium bolt from a MiG-31)
If anyone recognises the large reel, it is the first prototype for The Hardy Zane Ti Saltwater Fly Reel….

This is possibly my favourite. It's a one-weight which I match with an Orvis one-weight for tiny little brook trout. Though I have taken it to the Bahamas and fished for Bonefish with it, I. don't suppose there'd many people who have caught Bones on a one-weight…..My guide pissed himself laughing when he saw it, but by the end of the week was begging for him to leave the outfit with him, which I did and then picked it up next time I went.....

Wow. Those are works of art. Gotta be good for a few more fish.

Sh!t Engineering porn right there….
I wonder if they could turn out a few push bike parts....

Very very cool sample. Will we see production soon? Dang, I'll jump as soon as it turns up.
