^^
actually glad you brought this back up. was thinking of trying to write a children's book since most i read i really hate.
my daughter likes cinderalla/princess stories & all that, but for the most part they are just sexist b$ that reinforces gender roles. also want a book where the step parents aren't frecking evil
yeah i've given this way too much thought, but it's funny the things that actually shape personality & opinion & all that.
maybe it'll be a project for the new year . . . .
I did this as a project at the end of high school. It was a rhyming story about a dragon, etc. Basic idea was that you don't have to follow precedents if they are stupid. I illustrated it too.
Unforunately, I am quite sure I could not find it. My mom probably has it.

I have a theory about writers of children's books which also applies to children's music
(and more loosely applies to niche music categories like modern country and christian rock)
most of these people initially intended to/would much rather write books/perform music for adults in the mainstream
but they're just too damn stupid/untalented
you know those damn wiggles wanted to be rock stars when they were in college
when you come across well done stuff for kids it's refreshing
the barenaked ladies did a kids album we enjoy
my current favorite books are the fancy nancy series
yeah I said it

llama, llama is my little dude cause he got a single mom & he is always in some sh!t. i also like the kid with the bad teeth that has to stay after school & is always in trouble.
the oliva books are great & the books about the girl that lives in the hotel & never sees her mom (name escapes me at the moment)
unrelated rant, how wrong is it the last two months of the year many people eat a bunch of crap for holidays & such
you food& then try to get in shape at the top of the year? i mean it's just wrongto jaco nah (i) didn't think insult, cause when i type my reponses 50 folks usually respond between me & the respondent on the hot topic while i am trying to sort out my twisted dark thoughts
just came back to read this hot mess. yikes edits in red

Hahahah, LOL. Cheat - get audio books. When Alex was younger, he spent many hours in bed drifting off to sleep with Harry Potter etc. in the background. Little did he know we were usually in the pub.

Three weeks ago:
P "Darling, shall we just do a little drinks party for the neighbours on the Sunday before Christmas?"
G "Cool, go for it"Tonight:
P "You know, we have to do a lot tomorrow? We've got 70 coming on Sunday"
G "You fecking jkjkdkjdkdj hhyiuiwuwi kjkejkejekju what?" -
"little drinks party" just went big…have fun Giles!
-
Hahahaha, Giles; Merry Christmas! Have a couple of drinks for me.
Paula- brilliant suggestion about the audio books. I may have to try that when the little knee grabbers get a tad bigger.
Monday- Madeline is the girl who lives in the hotel. Haven't read the Olivia books, but in the tv show, she's annoying as all hell. I'll have to check out the Llama, Llama books; that sounds totally like my vibe.
And you should totally try writing a book of your own- based on your posts, I think you'd write a good one.Jaco- your theory is probably right, though there are a couple of half decent musicians on the kid scene (not the Wiggles- those bastards deserve to die slow painful deaths). You should track down the kid CDs from They Might Be Giants; they put out a couple of good ones. I swear, One Everything is objectively awesome.

Mini just tried to post a package to South Korea for me, weighing 2.4kg. The Royal mail claim it will cost £61 to ship
