Viberg

Checked out the Viberg pop up shop with PillowPants. He scored a sic deal on a pair of boots. I'm sure he'll post pics when he can.
Really nice to meet Guy and Morgan. Also, thanks to Andrew from 3Sixteen, always a nice guy.
Apparently, I got the most coveted and emailed about pair from the sample sale, the Harness Bobcats.

are the prices at the pop up shop the same for the boots listed on viberg.com?
-
I'm not sure.

With the post a few pages back regarding shell cordovan, unless there is a difference there seems to be alot of it shown on their facebook for them being so against it and having the service boot on their web page in it??

@toddjcoley, you know, I had the exact same thought when I saw their new site launch. Makes me think the 'root' is something else.
@pillowpants, man, what a great week you've been having. Really appreciate the photo journey Urbs. Great stuff.

any comment on those 2 black horse hide boot??
Honestly, I think those two black boots are just about perfect boots to my mind. Love the shape, the sole, the heel, the quality of leather, etc. I was not wild about the pebble grain of the cordovan boot at first, but am warming to it. Really bums me out that I couldn't make the pop-up in NY… Of course, it also bums me out that I don't have an extra grand lying around, since the only thing more eye-popping than the boots themselves is the price-tag!

Viberg Service Boot, Loden Green, Brogue Toe Cap, 8 Eyelets, Commando Sole, No box Toe, 2005 Last
out-of-the-box the leather looked parched & dull.
…. so i gave it a "lift". initially cleaned them w/Lexol leather cleaner, then 1st coat, Lexol conditioner
drying out after the 2nd coat, Sedgwick leather conditioner
2 days after treatment has sipped in & dry to touch. 'topped it off with a 3rd coat, Obenauf LP. i know some will disagee w/the conditioning overkill, but i thought i'd give it a feast before hitting the road. 'started out really dark, but they've lighten up quite a bit after 5days of wear.

Well they are kinda but made just for him
had the arrows put on them for him.
Apparently:
The significance of the broad arrow is actually a symbol which was used by the British military; it could be found on various military items like boxes and guns, to helmuts and boots. -

It is also known as the Pusser's (from Purser) Mark. It was used by the Royal Navy to identify things that belonged to them and hence the Purser could identify stuff that was stolen from him. Our house was built by the Royal Navy in 1830. There are Pusser's Marks all over the place. All of the individual hinges are stamped with it, even some individual bricks and flagstones. Here is the pavement outside our house….
I will look for more tonight….
