Well any hope there may have been for the US to make some noise in our group just died on Altidore's hammy. Poor kid.

Unifying moment for the under dogs? Sorry momentary flash of wishful thinking.
-
Well 3 points is 3 points. I'm as full of hope as I am of pride.
-
Great battling display by the USA I thought, but the decision to leave out Donovan looks like it's going to come back and bite Klinnsman.
Personally I think Altidore is a poor player, he plays for my clubs rivals Sunderland so I saw a lot of him last season and he reminds me of an even worse version of Emile Heskey. What I will say for him though is that he can provide a focal point for the attack to build around, without that Dempsey is going to struggle to keep the ball when it's played forward as being a target man is not his natural game. I think Jurgen should be searching his squad for a guy (maybe even a defender), who can control a ball and hang onto it to release runners from midfield.

The poor man's Emile Heskey - pure gold!

Been waiting twelve years for this:
@Megatron1505 cannot believe you forgot to mention David Ginola
-
@FurattoHeddo Ginola was who I was on about when I said that we had only had one great French player. The man is a hero of mine along with Asprilla, Albert Robert Lee, David Batty, Gary Speed (RIP) and Pavel Sniceck.
-
And not forgetting your illustrious countryman
-
-
I remember seeing Albert interviewed before a European game at an airport with a crate of beer under one arm and 400 cigs under the other. Legend.
-
WTF are Brazil doing? Fred is a waste of space, the full backs are actually staying back and Neymar is wandering around like a headless chicken. If they don't step up their game or get lucky they are going to get beaten.
Quite impressed with Mexico so far, they look compact and organised, the full backs are shadowing Marcelo and Alves and Marquez still looks like he can really play a bit still, even at 35.
-
Marquez has been absolutely supreme tonight, reminded me of Baresi's performance at USA 94.
-
Brazil didn't look so undefeatable…and congrats to Belgium for coming back after being behind. Having seen all teams but Russia and South Korea, I feel this could be a most suspenseful WC, with several teams being potential champions, and thus many tight matches with Hitchcock qualities.
-
As much as I'd love to pull for our neighbor, I just can't pull for Mexico, even against Brazil, the fans are just too vile. I guess I tie is a-ok.
-
Buenas noches, España! The king abdicated, and so did their team. Ha!
The socceroos can leave with their heads up, good game against the Dutch. The Netherlands are the team to beat for anyone toying with the title… -
Sad for Spain but they really lack a cutting edge , Chile have been excellent so far.
Balls to the wall prediction here, either France or Colombia will make the final.
