Cowboy boots

Yep, Paul Bond makes quality boots. Bond himself was something of a legend; he started making boots while he was working as a professional rodeo cowboy and just kept doing it. He went in to work most every day up into his 80s. I'm not familiar with who's been running things since his death in 2012, though.

There was this piece on the Sunday news about this guy who makes cowboy boots in Texas. They go for over $2000 each. The pair he made for Arnold Schwarzenegger are really cool.

Dave's a good guy. It'll be sad when he retires.
-
Idk why he doesn't train somebody else. Seems like a loss.

My sentiments exactly, but he hasn't taken on an apprentice for probably twenty years, and believe me, people ask regularly.

Wild only starts to describe
Which one is your favourite… and would you wear it?

Thanks for the info, might be in Phoenix in a few months, so just wondering if it's worth visiting his shop, it's over two hours and half drive.

I've heard that it's a great place to visit. In fact, somewhere in this thread, I posted a link showing a bit of the Bond barn. As for whether it's worth the five hour round trip through some of the more bleak landscape that Arizona has to offer, I can't say…

So, I’m addicted to these boots. I’m wanting to have a similar boot made but in a black chromexcel with spring/needle point toe and cowboy heel. I’m totally new to cowboy boots though. Does anyone have a direction to point me as far as a maker. I talked to heritage but they can’t get the chromexcel because has to be in large quantity orders… but I’m wanting a black the develops a superb patina with wear and that is built to take a beating.
