IH-634SV - The Vulcan - 18oz Raw Straight Cut Jean (With Hidden Pockets)

Look great

Thanks @madmonday . I absolutely love these jeans. The 18 oz is great denim. I think it's the perfect weight- good in winter and summer, both of which can be harsh in Chicago. A few more pictures. Please excuse the photography and the color balance, etc. I'm testing out a camera that's been purchased for astrophotography- I know nothing of real photography. I'll update as I can manage to shoot better quality pics- the belt is by Don't Mourn, Organize, and the stray hair or two is by Sophie (our Himalayan cat who sheds like crazy!). The photography mistakes are by yours truly.

The arcs and W were awesome on this model.

Thanks @den213 - yea, the belt is from Scott Willis. Just regular vegetable tanned horsehide, and I put one coat of Obenauf's on back in the day. Scott's stuff is great. Thanks for the kind words- the 18 oz really is special stuff. I'm so glad I grabbed a pair of these when I did. They've been my work pants- I've demoed and renovated two bathrooms, a staircase, and done just about all of my manual labor kind of stuff in them, and they're really held up. They'll be sent in very soon for the crotch tear.
I agree @Max Power - the green details were what sold me on these in the first place.

Great pics! I regret passing on these. The 18oz is beautiful! Hope something similar sees the light of day soon!
-
I'm a huge fan too - never could understand why these didn't catch on more.
I don't know if people were intimidated by the triangle or what but I've had my pair since the beginning and never had an issue with it. I will be wearing my pair a bit more since I fit into them comfortably again.
-
I love the triangle. I've hung my rule off of it for a few years now, and it's done it's job- the pocket is protected. I've actually gotten a lot of complements on the triangle specifically, and the leather is really nice- really soft, but tough as nails too. I agree- I'm not sure why these didn't do better.

Thighs ran a little slimmer than the regular 634, which was a problem. I also didn't want the added layer of denim in the back pockets; my ass gets sweaty enough as is.
Love the 18 oz denim and the olive stitching, though.

I definitely get that- if it isn't right for you, it's not right. They have an unusual feature set- the thighs turned out to fit well for me, but I could see how that could be a problem for a lot of guys. My regular 634s in the same size seem wider in the thighs, and slightly more tight in the waist.

^^^Awesome pic and a great pair of jeans.

I tired on my usual 36, and they were a little tight around my nads
Haven't heard the term 'nads' for a long time - awesome!
Can someone who has got these (Vulcans, not nads) please post some pics showing the leather pocket reinforcement from a few different angles. I'm curious to see how it looks when being worn - it's my only possible hangup aboutthese jeans.
cheers
