Catch of the day [Fishing]

Not a fisherman myself so amazed to see these handcrafted beauties. How long does it take an expert like to your friendo to make one of these? He must be 700 years old if he tied all those together, and they are only his rejects.

Very, very cool handiwork.
Whoever gets into making them will fill up his home with all sorts of different stuff (strings, nylons, beads…..and on and on) to imitate the myriad insects flying around water bodies. -
It's been built to access MoD (US = DoD) owned, and very restricted foreshore, the alternative is a 2 mile walk/scramble/wade. It is surprising stable.
When my mate got back to his bike after fishing, some local shits had slashed his tyres. I told him to add it to the "fast access pile"....

pushing shopping carts (trolleys?) into the local waterways
That's how they got there, it is the repurposing that I like......

Gear is a bit light for this kind of fishing
... but not the pants they are XHS!

@Giles Sea trout. I'm more used to fresh water fishing. Was nice, no trouts thought

Just catching up with the thread and there’s been some awesome fish caught. @Mizmazzle you're living my dream fishing the locations you do for amazing species of trout!
My season was quieter than normal but I had some great fish when I did get out. The salmon was landed on a high bank and was released straight after the photo. It was a good year for them this year which makes a change.

@Mizmazzle yeah all in all not a bad season. I didn’t get to fish much after mid June due to house renovations though. Our first born is due next March so I’ll probably fish even less next season.
Despite that I messaged Chris Barclay for one of his small stream specials.. 6’4” 3/4 blank rolled in Japan, Kineya hardware and a curly birch reel seat from Finland, guides etc from the states and built in NC by Chris. I might get to fish it in a couple years!
