Jacques Marie Mage (JMM) - Sunglasses and Frames…

sadly. they don't have stockist in Singapore. the only gripe I have, is not being able to try them on currently, which is a must for me when it comes to frames/glasses..

I absolutely loved listening to Jerome on the Dean Delray Podcast…..
I just bookmarked it for a listen tomorrow during the work day. I really liked the pod with Dean and Josh, too.

Damn, I'm absolutely gonna have to check that out. I love Dean.
Also, I'm basically just bracing for when JMM has a black Dealan frame available with just the dots on the side (not the visible metal stem inside like the Eclipse) and a lens color I like. Heaven help me.

I listened to it last night on a 12 hr drive home, posted it as soon as I started listening. It was a real treat! Also got me thinking on another pair lol …
I loved hearing his connections starting out with other brands and how the story came to be. Pretty cool how they didn’t do much marketing or gifting frames. Let the product speak for itself.

“These arent glasses, they are an invitation to curiosity”
What a great interview!

I listened to this podcast a while back, and Mage came across as a hugely passionate, detail-oriented guy. It really made me feel better about his products, despite the very high price point.
Listening to it rn and this guy def passes vibe check. Great dude.

Oh boy. I should start looking into a mortgage before Sept.
Buying a pair for the missus will smooth everything out, @Matt. Besides, you have an international trip coming up and so you gotta look sharp af.
Clearly you haven’t met the missus. If I spent $1300 on two pairs of sunglasses she would split and would take all her
moneylove and support with her. Not exaggerating. -

I am weighing some JMM opticals, so I (literally) weighed some Moscot Lemtoshes that unfortunately hurt my nose after a while. Those weigh 1.3 oz. I have some titanium frames that don't hurt, but I don't like how they stay in place (front-heavy on account of their light weight and my prescription). Those weigh 0.9 oz. My JMM Walkers? 2.3 oz and the most comfortable of any of them. I don't know how much more prescription (mine sucks) would weigh than the very thick sunglass lenses in them, but that is a point in favor of getting some optical Walkers.

I don’t really have an informed opinion as I’ve never worn prescription glasses, but I don’t find weight has much of a bearing on the comfort of sunglasses on my face. It’s all about the shape for me. I’ve had super light blue light glasses that gave me a headache after 15 minutes, but wore my molinos for like seven hours the other day and was fine.
