@monday:
honeylug outsole is so perfect for me. looking very fwd to these. . . not sure about the buckle, but that is so minor a detail & my jeans will likely cover it . . . so i don't even mind.
patiently awaiting sizing to be worked out so i can get this going. would love to be a test subject just so i can get my pair a bit earlier
***have to go about measured proper like so i have no issue with the sizing on these
I think I know exactly what you mean with the buckle (my thoughts were the same initially) but I have to say that it is a detail that definitely makesg the boot. I think mine are exactly what G is going for with a different sole, when the time comes for a resole I'm going for a lug sole.
On the sizing thing, mine are a full size down from my Nike Air Max 90 size and they're still roomy enough to use a proper thick bootsock. The boot is very bulky though, very much bulkier than say a pair of RW 875 in the same size. Don't know if it's because of the thickness/layers of leathers used but anyway they feel bullet proof.
@Jii:
Took a nice little stroll today in the sunshine.

^^^^
yeah you did snag a nice pair a while back & you did that cool modification on the sole. if you get the chance can you put up some current flicks?
want to see how that light color has evolved since you last posted a flick, & thanks for the sizing advice, it won't be ignored
-
looks like you responded before i could finish. they look perfect & your cuffs & the length of your jeans flwless. good sh!t, jii
& write ups like yours help me get over the initial sticker shock
-
found these pretty cheap. think i'll give them a test run before G's make-up comes out
-
so, what you think?
-
yeah, they are (too light), to be honest it was a total impulse buy.
think i'm justifying it by saying these are my test run
-
yep, not more than twenty minutes ago
& per nameness' request will attempt a write up & plenty of pics once they touch down.
-
If you treat them with obenaufs they will darken up considerably.
-
don't think i want to darken them just yet, but i do hope the pictures are making them look lighter than they really are.
i guess we will all find out later this week
-
thanks all. i hope they work out & live up to my lofty expectations.
z what kind of ob do you suggest using on them? the liquid or the cream kind so i am prepared
-
I would use the cream, it will come out way more even, especially on the first application, then if you wanna use the liquid it's fine. Personally, for boots, I think the cream is always the way to go however.
