It was a complete pain. Haraki did a load of designs for the new arc, shared them with me and we decided on the current version. But to be sure it would be OK, he went and got Levis approval to it.
Do you have pictures you can share of prototype arc designs?

Just googling for the date of the original injunction and found this...

I'm particularly proud of this answer.....

@Giles When I go back into denim again around 2020, I was actively seeking out more gimmicky/unique fabrics (N&F, ONI, PBJ Slubs). IH was on my radar but admittedly, I didn't think it looked particularly interesting in photographs...
Went on to pick up the Indigo 18oz CPO on eBay and it was instantly the nicest denim I'd ever had my hands on (still my favourite fabric to this day).
Safe to say, I didn't know what I was talking about.

@Alex lol no... Reddit is the only site where I keep my username private so I can indulge in conversation about my wide array of weird/niche interests without being judged by people I know IRL!
Although, I've engaged with a fair few forum members inadvertently on r/rawdenim, so my secret indentity may not be as secret as I'd like to beleive...

Until Levis flexed their muscles and threw their weight around, hardly anyone outside of Japan had heard of us (or indeed knew that the Japanese denim scene even existed). Levi's made sure many more did. No such thing as bad publicity.
Sounds like one of the earlier examples of the Streisand Effect. Nice.

Thank you for a new addition to my vocabulary....
And, fucking brilliant..........
"Image 3850" had been downloaded only six times prior to Streisand's lawsuit, two of those being by Streisand's attorneys. Public awareness of the case led to more than 420,000 people visiting the site over the following month.
One of may faves.....it was originally told me about salesmen, but lawyers will do too..
It's not that surprising that lawyers sometimes shoot themselves in the foot, what is surprising though, is how fast they reload....

Why do certain pairs like the non fade black not have lined pockets, no hidden rivets and no tucked belt loops?

just wear and tear in a high movement area

@popvulture I have a pair of 1634 "freebees" they are non selvage and non lined rear pockets, no hidden rivets and no tucked belt loops, I also have a pair of non fade blacks that also do not have these features, I have a pair of triple works that have half lined back pockets. It's interesting to see the changes through the time.

Also, this gives me an error everytime I click on it:

(link from the 'recent') list to the Cowboy Boots thread.
Link to the thread itself works fine:

Have you also experienced that the 21 oz denim doesn't really fade at all for quite some time until you arrive at a point where the fading seems to accelerate so fast?
-
@RobeOfTheMagi could be a psychological thing. my slubs and 21 lefties, I felt faded very slowly, when I was wearing them day in and out. when I moved on to a new pair, all of a sudden, they looked as though they've been faded a lot, almost as though they were trying to lure me back in
