Y’2 Leathers….
-
i recently bought the IB-141 new, and also picked up an EB-140 second hand (although it was practically new) and i absolutely love the pair of them.
Both size 40, and i am usually a large in most iron heart shirts and jackets.I especially find the colour of both jackets really beautiful, the green one has some real depth to it that is hard to see in photos.
The Eb 140 is also a bit thicker/heavier than the IB141, so is better if its a bit colder outside with the indigo more of a lighter, everyday jacket -
Beauties!

@Darth-fader Both gorgeous , congratulations mate

@Daniel-San That jacket must be unlined? It's the best look.
-
@Daniel-San man, that is killer! Which model is it?
-
@Darth-fader these are amazing
Hope to have one myself someday, I will try and visit Y'2 when I finally go back to Japan...

@popvulture
it’s the LB-140 ANILINE BLACK HORSE HIDE TYPE 1 JACKET.
the leather is a little thinner than the usual eco horse and feels/ looks different because it’s aniline dyed and not tea core. I absolutely love this leather !@indigostiff
it’s lined -
Just came in today and I’m beyond stoked on it. This is a 52 I have the camel I got a year ago in a 50 as well. They fit similarly in the chest but this has a wider waist so it’ll be more comfortable with a shirt or hoody under it. I need a leather next but finding one my size is a bit tough

Man, I'm disappointed to report that I can barely wear my KAK 140 without discomfort. The worst part is the inside of my arms at the elbows. I dont have massive biceps and arms. I don't work out at all. But man, the leather there seems to bunch up, seemingly because it's thick horsehide, and it bruises the ish out of me. I picked up the size 42 which is quite form fitting. I wonder if the 44 would be any better. Is this an issue with most HH jackets or does anyone else have a similar experience? Thanks again for everyone's time and any insights they can share.

@Rooney-04
Are you talking about the KB 140? -
@Rooney-04 sorry to hear that… If it’s a matter of the leather being rigid, and needing the soften up, or to have more mobility at your elbows or shoulders… The leather will do that. If you need the leather to stretch or get bigger, it won’t do that unfortunately
My best advice would be to wear it, every day, for a few weeks and see what happens! The resale value will not be too different now if you do that

Mine isn’t completely uncomfortable, I just can’t try to drink a beer or coffee, or drive a windy road. Isn’t this normal when wearing a thick leather HH jacket?
-
@99Tjadams I think that is normal for the first 50-100 wears, but should improve after that!
-
@Buckeye
Ok. It mostly happens when I'm trying to wear it (KB 140) at my desk and I'm using the PC, drinking my coffee/water, and sitting with my arms bent at my side. I also noticed the liner is sewed along this part of the arm in the sleeve and the material in mine seems to overlay itself there which adds a little more material to the area being impacted. I'll keep trying to wear it every day to see if the leather releases and softens up. Fingers crossed this jacket can serve me for the next 20! Thanks for the input gents. -
Rooney, I know what you mean, when I’m wearing mine and moving my arms around to try to break it in more I feel the same seam digging in near my elbows.
Mine was pre owned but looked pretty new, I wore it watching a few movies, few dog walks and car drives, then sprayed mine down with a spray bottle with distilled water, went for a 40 min drive, layer down flat overnight, wore a few more times, then rubbed mustang paste into it with my fingers.
It’s softer now, but on the downside I think my nice crisp sleeve wrinkles I had have softened maybe too much and flattened out a little. I liked them looking more bunched up before, so not 100% sure I would use the mustang paste so soon next time, probably should have waited longer. -
Several shots from today of the Y’2 leather rough out Type III jacket. I like it a lot!
-
Perfect fit on that
