Collector’s Corner (Vintage and Rare Treasures)

Hello good people,
I have a Levis 70505-0214 (Type 3) orange tab in size 40 which I would like to part ways with. It's in mint condition and the patch is still intact for the most part; from what I can gather from the Heddels guide it's from ca. 1967/68.
It's an awesome jacket but I must say it's almost too nice to wear and it's such a good example of this jacket I feel like it should be framed. I have a repro type 3 from TCB (don't ask me to leave the forum, I needed a lighter denim jacket without handwarmer pockets!) and feel very happy to thrash that one rather than the vintage Levis jacket.
I will post some pictures if you guys are interested, just checking the water here in case there is any interest in this particular piece.
Thanks!
Cheers

@goosehd Thanks for the messages and here are some pictures!
I really like the writing on the inside, looks like it was part of the demin before the jacket was cut and sewn. I'm not expert on this jacket but it's a really nice piece.

Heads up for everyone: This is one that doesn’t quite fit in the marketplace, but also is something interesting to all of us denim nerds.
Normally wouldn’t allow this, but it is a great thread starter for those of us sitting on vintage pieces.
I invite everyone to post some of their “treasures” and see how this thread takes off…

no expert here, but shouldn't it have a big E then?

My Levi’s big E Type III 70505 0217 from factory 525. From 1969 I believe. Thrifted this thing!

The care labels on the jackets below the paper patches were introduced in in 1971 as part of US federal law. Orange tab was introduced in the 1960's and it's this care label that separates the 60's and 70's jackets based on what I can find. Happy to hear more information on these!

@BalticBob care labels entered the picture in 1968; take a look at the image of labels in this article: https://www.heddels.com/2016/10/how-to-date-and-value-vintage-levis-type-i-ii-and-iii-denim-jackets/

@mclaincausey @BalticBob had that link in his original post and when I moved it over accidentally broke the link. I’ll fix it.

It's a nice looking jacket. I don't have anything to add beyond what's already been written by Heddels guide. I had one a while back.
