IHSH-369-GRY - 12oz Slubby Heavy Flannel Herringbone Check Western Shirt - Grey
-
@Brian looking good Brian! Great to see it finally arrived.
-
@SKT See this post here for shrink test results
TLDR: generally the same behaviour as a normal UHF
-
My size (Large) was sold out on the IH site, so just bought from Rivet and Hide.
Definitely didn't adhere to the one UHF rule per season, this will be my 3rd

I see a lot of comments about 30C, no spin for no shrinkage. But what about 30C regular spin, esp in the shoulders and chest? I'd rather get no shrinkage at all, but would also be great to just throw it in with my other clothes

Great to know @AdamJ thanks

Wasn't on my radar until I tried it on in store. Snagged the last one in my size.

This was my first IH flannel, which led quickly to the UHF in Red Hombre, then Green Hombre, then 9oz Selvedge in Blue Check, two western and two workshirts so thoroughly enjoying my new shirt collection after being solely IH jeans and jackets only for the past 12 years. There might be a better place to post my query but will start here since it is specific to my first flannel piece. I seem to have a fairly good handle on caring for the jeans and jackets since they are one washed and I have little concern about overwashing or shrinking. The fading and softening and washing when the nose knows has been a satisfying occurrence with my jeans and denim jackets. Now as I enter the IH shirt world and I have read alot on how to wash I don’t see as much on when to wash. Should I just keep up with the nose knows and be sure to cold wash my xxxl and perhaps bit warmer water on my xxxxl if I want a bit of shrinkage in shoulders and sleeves, or cold wash all but dry the 4x in a dryer to realize some shrinkage? I don’t necessarily need to shrink any but i defiinitely don’t want to shrink the 3x at all but don’t want to never wash either if i should be? I am 6ft 4 in 235 lbs btw, 3x are not tight but perfect in sleeves and shoulders and waist, where 4x are bit big in shoulders but hang nicely with room for layering as needed. As always, all advice is appreciated.

@les-l I cold wash (machine - front loader) and hang to dry all of my flannels (Ironheart) and have not had any issues with shrinkage following that protocol.
Edit: As indicated on the product pages, you can get up to a half size shrinkage using hot water and drying with a machine.

@goosehd I’m coming up on my first wash with some of mine … do you also do a gentle spin cycle or no spin. Thank you.

@goosehd thanks very much, appreciated.
