White's Boots

@popvulture man that’s funny I was just gonna reach out to you! Nothing for me this year, I’m still kind of breaking stuff in. I’m thinking a custom Semi-dress next year or Smoke Jumper. Glad you got an order in!
-
@SKT yeah man I'm psyched! Guess now I've just gotta wait. How long did it take you to get yours after your Black Friday order?
-
@popvulture did you stray from the standard build?
-
Damn that’s a pretty long time! I just did standard though. Probably the only thing I would’ve considered doing custom would be getting a 12.5 instead of 13. Decided to just opt for the whole size in an effort to get em more quickly, plus I think I’ve just been wearing my shoes too small for ages and need to start being kinder to my feet.
-
@popvulture they’re gonna be awesome. Now you just need to forget about em. In solidarity I won’t mention the build until you post a pic of em on your feet. Be here before you know it ️
-
Haha @SKT yeah it’ll totally happen before I know it — my Wills took 2 years (or actually in the end a little less iirc) and it ended up feeling a lot faster in the end.

Huge fan of White's Boots here. I own 4 pairs along with Wesco, Truman, Trickers, Alden, Redwing Heritage and my White's are my favorites. I'm not sure you can get a better value than the Perry Select right now. I've heard stories about quality control but the one problem I had was resolved within 24hrs and their customer service department couldn't have been nicer to me. From left to right I have a pair of black chromexel MPs, black double shot Perry Select, burgundy double shot Perry Select, and a pair of custom horsehide Semi-Dress. The semi dress on the 55 last is the most comfortable pair of boots I own and it's not even close.

Forgot to add the pic...lol

My first pair of White's ordered through Baker's Boots in Eugene. Great folks!
-
@TelemarkTumalo those are sick man! I’m looking for a new pair of lace up boots. Been looking at whites, among others. How long was the build time?
-
@TelemarkTumalo really, really nice. Love that color

Thanks. I'm really digging these. This last fits my relatively high arches and narrow heels, very well.
The wait time was 9.5 months. I ordered through Baker's Boots in Eugene, OR and was told it would be ~ 16 weeks. Unfortunately, my initial order got confused with a another customer and they thought it had been filled already. Baker's determined what happened and resubmitted with an offer to change my order if I chose. I elected to change from the brown chromexcel to this #8 chromexcel. Very happy with this choice.
So, quite the wait with my method. A quicker option is to order direct from White's and peruse the offerings. Some of their boots in popular sizes ship quickly, but customizable options can take longer.
With that said, I'm glad that I waited. I'm very happy with the result!

@TelemarkTumalo thanks a ton! Very helpful info. I’m leaning towards either the 350 cutter or cruiser in Burgundy. Your color #8 is lovely though. Would love to put the mini lug sole on them.
-
@TelemarkTumalo nice! Also curious about lead time. I ordered a pair of stock cruisers from Bakers during BF, wondering how long it’ll take. I’m patient but ya know… not really

The 350 Cutter and Cruiser are both great looking boots. My Sherman's have the 1/2 sole with mini-lug. Interestingly, these soles feel much softer than the 430's on my Iron Rangers. Maybe only my perception, but feel softer and quieter.
-
@TelemarkTumalo they are much softer, I had them in MPs and they were really comfortable due to its softness. MP Sherman with cap toe with these soles are to me best looking White's
-
@TelemarkTumalo yup!! That’s the sole to get right there. That’s the 430 right?
I know what you mean about same soles feeling different. Not my lofgrens and my wescos have the same vibram 700 sole. But the lofgrens are much more slip resistant somehow.

A little more wear on my mp’s, starting to look better as they darken imo
