Eyeglasses / Sunglasses Discussion

Just realized my most comfortable screen glasses (like reading glasses but for the computer work distance from the screen) are also made in Japan: Masunaga GMS116 with a super light titanium frame. Highly recommended.
-
@Tobi funny you bring this up, I was just getting ready to ask for recs for screen/glare glasses. We “upgraded” our monitoring equipment and the new screens give me major eye strain.

Matsuda vibe there, really different

Been eying these Caddis Readers for over a year now. Chatted with @Graham at the party about them as he was also into them. Finally bit on some progressives. These are the Porgy Backstage. A Wayfarer style. One of the few that would fit my big head. The acetate is great and the lenses seem really nice. I’ll be getting more style for sure.

@Matt I dig those. Just checked out their website. As I’m in the market for some progressive lenses and new frames. Are these only readers? I’m opposite. News a progressive to see far and no magnification for close up. Looked at a couple frames on their site. Only saw reader progressives.

They do prescriptions and sunglasses as well. Should be on the drop down below readers. I’m not sure if they do reverse progressives though. If it’s not an option I’d email them. Also, make sure you get the 20% code. Once you sign up for emails you’ll get those all the time. They’re worth it.
FYI… the first pair I got, Muzzys, were really great looking but too small. Exchanging was extremely easy and crazy fast. They shipped the new ones before they even received the returns.

Did anyone else take advantage of the Sungod buy one, get one on Thanksgiving? I bought the Zephyrs for myself (or wife) and got the McLaren Sierras for free. I really like their glasses, super lightweight, the lenses are great, and priced well. Havent worn my JMMs in a long time.

I tried on a pair of @Papa-Nui's new Coral Cruiser sunglasses at Pickings and Parry in Melbourne.
They look good, I'm not sure how well my prescription would get on with them, though.
-
They look good on you, @Graeme. The frame would probably suit a tinted prescription or Transitions lens.
-
@danyhearty if I get a pair, I'll probably put the Transitions Drivewear lenses in, which go from a light brown to dark.
I need to check whether my prescription would work too.

Could anyone recommend me a quality leather pouch for protecting sun glasses? I have a hard case, but it unfortunately it a bit small and I have to leave it open when at home and when I'm on the road or outside, I have to keep my pair in my pocket when not wearing them. So I would like to get some handmade leather pouch that goes along with me. Any recommendations?

Last summer holidays I discovered "True Vintage Revival" (TVR Opt) in Åhus, Sweden. They were unfortunately above my budget but they seem really, really nice.
