Eyeglasses / Sunglasses Discussion

@sabergirl good points raised. I didn't seal the inside, but its a good idea. I cleaned the hell out of it with some home solutions that are good 'chelating agents' for lead (basically they capture lead atoms in a chemical cage). but your post is prompting me to test it today & explore sealing methods should it still test positive....

@Matt right on - i enjoy looking at it (and that it is 'tidy')

Am I the only one who appreciates smaller (facefitting) frames? I had Moscots and similar swedish manufactured ones (name escapes from me atm) and Polo's... even RayBan Clubmans with smaller lens feel too big... then I found these... They are perfect and they are actually almost exact KD copies. So should be fine for riding.

@Nik - End Clothing has a few (~10) District Vision frames at 40% discount currently.
-
Thanks @Nocturama looks like I missed the Nagata but might try the Junya
-
Tried the District Vision Nagata and Junya sunglasses, but neither fit securely enough for me. Well made though and great designs. The pink lens on the Nagata is very good.
-
Tried out Oakleys. I liked the sub zero (and after ordering they released a collab version with satisfy running with the same lens)
But these didn’t fit securely so tried the sutro lite sweep and they fit great. Did a sweaty interval run with them yesterday and they were very comfortable. Long ride with them tomorrow. The prizm road lens increases contrast to better see road imperfections

Loving these Masunaga 070’s….

Those look nice

I dropped by Nes Optiek in Amsterdam, and they had some very cool silver frames by Pampaloni.
If you want an alternative to the omnipresent JMM styles...
-
Sadly the Lowercase NYs are too small so they’re going back. I found a great deal on a pair of Dita Sequoias though, $290, so those are headed my way.
I’ve decided JMMs aren’t in my future. Raising the price of something that’s already really expensive just because they’re on tv isn’t cool. My opinion only of course.
-
Ive seen a few desirable JMM models for sale recently from people who have massive hordes in the 400-500$ range @Matt if that helps at all. If there's anything you're looking for in particular i can keep an eye out and send you the links, but totally understand. There's some inconsistent pricing as well from model to model that I havent figured out yet either.

Anybody own any Matsuda? They’ve kinda piqued my interest a couple of times lately but I know nothing about them. Seem more wire frame focused, kind of in the JMM price range but a little less. Some pretty cool stuff — I’ve been particularly interested in some round frame aviators (tbh I don’t know if you’d still call em that if the shape is round).
-
Ah that’s interesting! Rivet & Hide carries them, so I figured they must be pretty high quality. I like the sort of side depth flange (or whatever you might call that) I see in the profile views of the aviators. Nice details. I also like some of the sort of wilder, almost steampunk-y ones with the interesting nose rests etc. Probably would be weird for me to bust those out but I dig the look.

@popvulture I could be wrong, but I think @Giles has a pair of asymmetric frames from them...
