i'll chime in..
it's not one of my favourite cuts since i've not tried them both. it's a shame it's not a 666 which currently i absolutely love. that isn't to say it wouldn't change after i've tried both cuts on to see how they fit. like some of you mentioned, it'll be hard with 100 questions and 101 opinions. i'll not vote for now, but i'll stay tuned and see where it goes..
My thoughts too

777 is killing it right now. It’s my favorite. I like the 888 for physical
Work and the 777 for more stylish occasions. -
Not in the market right now and therefore abstaining from voting, but if this happens next year I'd want 666, and understanding that cut doesn't work for all would settle for 634. These newfangled cuts are not appealing to me personally, especially if there's a high rise or an extreme taper.
(I could see the latter perhaps in a unique lightweight denim for a summer sneaker jean though.)
It's a great idea and the crew are great for entertaining is regardless of how it falls out.

To initiate a run of any jean we need about 60pairs in one cut. I am a little nervous about doing another new jean this year for regular production given the volume of new models we have inbound in the not too distant future, so ideally we would only run ones for forum members expressing an interest here rather than do something like the DWC jean where we have two different patches on the same model, some for the preorder others for general release.
Undestood. It wouldn't be the end of the world if this didn't happen either since you already have tons of great stuff available.
Just curious, who originally came up with this idea??? I did vote 888.

@ROman I believe @gaseousclay suggested the idea but I could be wrong.

A new denim would mean a greater number of pairs required to make it happen. To louis and @EJS I think the 666 is our least popular cut currently across the board.
I do find that surprising, 666 is my go to fit because I'm skinny and quite tall. I also wear the 634 with wesco boots to avoid the 'golf club' look (and 816 the rest of the time)… At some point soon I will definitely get to R&H to try on the other cuts and may yet join in here..

i'm not surprised at all since i've seen the trend switch from slim to taper at a time when everyone with slim jeans pinroll their cuffs. to me, it looks like s**t.
the 666 is the prime versatile jeans in my view as it's not too wide for boots yet slim enough to wear with sneakers. i promise i'll try the 777 or 888 in nov and give them a thought.. hopefully it's not too late for a vote then

Different strokes for different folks. I dislike a really strong taper on denim. I'm talking anything below 7.5". At 5'11, 175 lbs i'm usually a 34-34.5" waist, 12.5-13" thigh, 8.5-9" knee and 7.5-8" hem in the sizing spectrum. The 777 cut, and to some degree, the 888 cut fall into these parameters which is pretty decent. I just can't and won't wear any cut of jean where the hem falls into bell bottom territory, which for me is usually 8.5"+. Of course, there are many different body shapes on the forum and IH can't please them all.

You can make the 777 work with that waist and thigh combo?

yes, if I account for some stretch. The IH-777S-21 in a size 34 has a 34.4 waist and 12.2 thigh. The thigh would likely stretch. The IH-777S-142 has a 34.5 waist and 12.5 thigh which is perfect. Of course, if the forum jeans were made in a 777 cut i'd have to size accordingly since they would be sanforized but unwashed. Otherwise, I could likely make the 888 cut work too, it's just the hem is a tad bigger than I like.

Wow, congratulations for the success on the newfangled cuts, and thanks for keeping the fuller cuts for the oldsters and old souls.
As an aside, I'm with @louisbosco , but then I'm old enough to have gotten over the pinrolling fad (including acid wash) decades ago. Seeing resurfaced trends like this and vintage Jordans all the rage again makes me happy for those who missed it the first time around, and bored for myself

So at 5' 11" you would have to have them hemmed, and then the 7.5 - 8" hem wouldn't really be a true hem???
