IH-777-UHR - Indigo UHR 21/23oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Tapered
-
Good plan @Kasi
Here is the full, official Iron Heart wash guide for UHR denim:
“ULTRA HEAVY RAW (UHR) DENIM
An initial soak or wash is particularly important with this denim, as it is very stiff and abrasive in its raw state, so can cut through the constructional stitching if not bedded in. The denim is loom-state (there has been no post weave processing performed on the denim), so it will shrink and skew. Our UHR jeans are designed to be “shrink to fit”, so after washing or soaking a couple of times they will shrink to tag size. You are likely to see about one inch shrinkage in the waist and two inches shrinkage in the inseam. When you get your jeans, soak them in a bathtub or large sink of cold water for a few hours. Then turn them inside-out and wash them in a washing machine* at no hotter than 30 degrees C (circa 90 degrees F), you do not need to add washing powder or detergent. Ideally no spin (or very slow spin) and don’t put them in a tumble dryer, it is far better to allow them to air dry (still inside-out). Before they are completely dry, turn right side out and try to smooth out all the wrinkles.”

After a soak and a wash the fit is perfect. The fabric is amazing.
Even if it's hot here, I wear it as much as possible. More comfortable than my 777 XHS. Fading is very fast

I got my first Harley after hitting a Pick-4 for 15k at Belmont Park on Belmont Stakes day,in 2004. They even wrote about my story in the Harley Enthusiast magazine. At one point I was moving towards becoming a professional horse player. It’s incredibly hard, and time consuming. These days I bet 4 races a year.

That’s awesome man. I abstain now. I work too hard for cash to
Gamble it -
Thinking about getting one of these, especially as this will be the last chance to grab the UHR denim.
However, I have some concerns regarding sizing.
I have a 777S-21blk size 33 which fits quite nice, even though the topblock could be just a little bit smaller. I haven't worn them often yet, so there is just a little to no stretch.
No I'm not sure whether to go for a 32 or even 31 with the UHR. I'm afraid the 32 will be to big after stretching back post soak and the 31 maybe to small.
What do you guys think or recommend? -
@don_pipone are those 777-21blk measurements from the website or are they your actual pair? If the former I'd measure your actual pair and then compare.
Looking at the UHR measurements, you'd be best off asking the crew at IHUK if the can find a bigger W31 or a smaller W32.
-
Thank you @neph93
Those are the measurements from the website. Didn't think about measuring my actual pair, which I did now.
I will contact the IHUK crew through the website to find the right pair. -
Ordered! I decided to go for a pair of W31. Thanks to Adam for his help and all efforts.
Now the painful waiting for the deliveryman begins. -
Looking forward to seeing how it goes @don_pipone

Just received my pair at work. Couldn‘t wait until I get home.
I‘m glad I sized down on these. After soak and wash they will be perfect!
But damn that denim is stiff! When I got my first pair of 21oz I had trouble button the top button, but this UHR is a bitch! [emoji28]

Fit Looks good. but I agree, the UHR denim is a Monster.

@don_pipone those look perfect. Fit should be great on those. Looking good

Thx!
They now hang to dry after soak and wash.
I‘ll come back with the post-wash measurements as soon they are dry. -

Soaked, washed, shrinked and hemmed.
They fit really nicely and don‘t feel as abrasive and stiff as they did pre-soak.
