@Filthy:
@Chris the boots fit great and the are mind-blowing! I am almost speechless. Holy smokes.
Glad they fit and that you're happy with them. I said it before, but it beats repeating- they are really good looking boots.

I am really digging the orthotic support in these. Also the roomy round toe is great. I am not keen on boots with poiny toes.

Thanks a lot!

They look boss. How's the orthotic support built in these, is it like the arch is heavily curved, White's style? You are normally more of a flat last guy, isn't that right? I seem to remember a DIY-project of yours, flattening a pair of Romeos?
-
@Crit_Obs yeah flattened those out good. There's a definitely a pronounced arch in these. But it is rather comfy out of the box. I mean, they are VERY heavy and stiff and my feet feel tired from wearing them today. But…
The Wesco Romeos have a leather half slip (and were rather agonizing to wear) out of the box. It took me over a year to break them in to get them sort of comfortable (even close to as comfortable as the Viberg is out of the box).
The Romeos are like having your foot on a 90 angle shelf. The Viberg has more of an ergonomic construction in my opinion. I have very wide and flat fallen arches. But they don't make my feet hurt so far.
Edit: I should add that the Wescos were a deal off the shelf and you can get the soles without a half slip and get them flat if you get them custom made.
Please see my crude diagram

Aww yeah, solid info as always, thank you @Filthy .
I enjoy the White's "arch-ease" very much so gotta remember Viberg's 2045 last. I have fallen arches as well but the time spent walking around in White's has taught me to naturally walk in a more proper fashion, as if I had arch support even when wearing other shoes or indeed flip-flops (I'm big on flip-flops). I know some folks feel very strongly against having any sort of built-in support in your shoes but for me it works very well, while being supremely comfortable.
-
I wear flip flops every single day too. I'm sorry but I have never had a pair of White's to give you a proper comparison. But the Viberg 2045 definitely gets my seal of approval.

I decided to be brave and wear these on my trip to Montana. It is going to be close to 18 hours wear today and tons of walking and driving. So far so good. No sore spots or blisters or anything. I have a medium thick pair of Darn Tough on to protect from blisters. The new boots definitely feel like a firm handshake.

As they are having a sample sale in NY next weekend, I’m trying to figure out my size. I wear a 7 in Red Wing, and an 8 in sneakers so would I be a 7 in the Service Boots? Already anticipating a long wait in line but hoping to score something good!
-
It feels like they are having these sample sales every other month but it's probably been a year since the last one and time just goes by too fast.
Not that these sales concern us Euro-trash anyway. ::)
I quite like the look of the new collab with Division Road: https://divisionroadinc.com/collections/viberg/products/viberg-service-boot-310-vibram-gloxi-black-oil-tan-roughout

I wear the same size in RW as all of my Vibergs. 2030 last isn’t as wide as some of the other lasts, but still fit well.
The sample sale 5-6 years ago is how I got hooked on Viberg. I still wear my first pair all the time.

@David_pll I wear an 8.5 in Viberg Hikers and Engineers. For reference I am a 9 in RW Iron Rangers and Wesco.
My theory on the more frequent 'Sample Sales' is a combination of an increase in popularity and available models combined with Viberg's somewhat poor reputation for making construction mistakes. To their credit they are finding these mistakes and selling them at these sales rather than at full price.
