Twin jeans really do look awesome, the top block is getting a bit close. Twin less great eating and more hiking, hahaha.
When you a D666 going to hit the trails? . . .
-
weather is getting nice . . .
-
sounds fun, i would be in. nothing too crazy, just enough to loosen up my tight jeans

I had recently received an email from Self-Edge stating that
"We've just received a large restock of the popular 301s jean from Iron Heart which now has a visible selvedge outseam. We worked with Iron Heart to tweak the way the outer leg is cut to preserve the selvedge edge of the fabric while maintaining the slim tapered fit the 301s is known for. The product page has been updated with the new measurements to reflect this. "
I have not seen pictures.. but I DO know which is going to be my next pair in about 2 weeks after the pay check…

Looks like I'm gonna be back in a pair of IHs finally. Just picked up a pair of these and should have in a few days. Will most likely be reserved for winter but couldn't resist when I saw the measurements.

Well… Just kidding apparently. 2nd pair of jeans in a row I've tried to order off the SE online site that ended up being out of stock despite what site inventory indicated. Really bummed on this one.

Did you call around to all of the stores TMT?
-
All stores were checked.

Have you considered the 555-01's? The cut is somewhat similar. At least in my size (36) I feel the 555's are slightly tighter in the hips and have a longer rise when compare to my 301's (original ones without the visible selvedge)
-
Not a long enough inseam for me
-
Forgive me if this has been talked about already, but,
This is a selvedge denim, is there a reason for the outer seam to be unfinished and over-locked? Pretty curious.
Thanks

thought the selvedge was now visible on these?

The 301S does not have selvedge, it was designed that way, partly because when it was originally conceived by Tom and Haraki it was destined to be sold to the Haraki's domestic customers (who on the whole are bikers and don't give a jot about selvedge, preferring cut and construction to be their driver), Haraki decided not to release it in Japan and Kiya decided to take the jean. . . .
The 301S was originally conceived as a non selvedge jean. The same silhouette could be achieved to show the selvedge line, but it would be a radical redesign. I originally thought it was due to the taper, but learnt otherswise when I was designing the Devils's Fit with Tom and Haraki….
Hope this helps a little . . .

So Kiya clearly wanted it to be redesigned, are they a better jean because of it? I just got them yesterday at self edge LA, and my pair is made without the finished edge.
