Good to see you found the Cooper's beer, mate! We're lucky to have some awesome beers here (and unfortunately a bunch of bad ones too!).
That style of car is called a 'ute' - short for utility - and they are pretty common with tradesmen and people in rural areas who need to transport heaps of shit but don't want a truck. Unfortunately they are also bought by city tools who think it makes them look macho!
BTW, thanks for bringing the nice weather with you, Urban. A few weeks ago it was pissing down rain for days on end, now it's just glorious sunshine everyday.

Yeah the weather has been amazing. I literally just asked the girl I was working with what was up with Ute's and she basically said the same thing. I've seen a lot of toolbags riding around in Ute's.
Another thing I've noticed is that you don't have brewed coffee here. All espresso, all the time. We've just been ordering Flat Whites.
Anyways, I've had a great time and really love it here. Everyone we've met has been extremely nice.

We do, but it's not the commonly drunken-drink. Good Coffee Shops will often have filter/pour-over, siphon, the odd cold drip, dedicated black/single espresso machine….
This is up and down all parts of the east coast of Australia.
Nice to see there's at least 1 other IH-wearer/forum-ite in Sydney, hello RnR! Whenever I wear the IHF-2012 out I hope to be stopped by someone knowing where it came from....one day :).
Still no IH down here AFAIK. I've subscribed to the thread. If anyone is looking @ coming to Australia, feel free to PM/E-mail me.

Sydney is enchanting. Having the Royal Botanic Gardens, Circulay Quay, the Opera House, The Harbor Bridge, and the multi-pronged harbor and ferries concentrated in such a tight area is really just amazing. I only spent a couple of weeks there and it looks like we have Sydneysiders who would know the place far better than I, but I'd like to recommend a place I really enjoyed in particular, the Lord Nelson Brewery Hotel. If you go underneath the Harbor Bridge on the downtown side of the bridge, I think it's in that neighborhood. This is an old part of town and you can see the hew-marks on the quarried stones from the original penal inhabitants. I didn't stay there, but I certainly enjoyed their outstanding beers.

I'll arrive in Sydney on April 16, 2014 to start a mini tour with Sly & Robbie and Bitty McLean (Sydney, 2 nights at Byron Bay for the Bluesfest, Melbourne).
I can't wait to discover Australia.

Feck I'll be in Japan. More than happy to help you out if I can hook you up with anything that the local folk arranging the tour can't. Do you have a promo spot on FBi's Foreign Dub program (Sunday Arvo Radio program nuttin' but Dance Hall, Dub, Regge). Worth ensuring the guys get across that with the sound they.
