OK. But you still keep it in UK based banks right?
Sherdil, I think this is an issue you would have to read about from your credit card provider… really not familiar with credit cards to be honest. Doesn't matter what currency you pay for if the banks the money goes into are in fact foreign banks, right? -
Guys (and girls), I have been running the Heavyweight Denim Championship over on Superfuture, which has been an immensely successful, and popular competition. The first competition has featured a variety of denim from 17oz upwards, and from a wide variety of manufacturers, the most popular of which by far was Iron Heart.
The competition was kindly supported by Self Edge, with a variety of prizes offered by Kiya, ranging from a free "getting drunk" session with Kiya, to store credit, to a custom one off pair of jeans from Self Edge. Also, we have the "Heavyweight Championship Belt", provided by our friends at Obbigood label, which will go to the winner of the competition
The first competition is due to end at the end of February next year, and the second competition will begin the following day for a further 24 month period. What I would like to do is cross run the competition between Superfuture, and the Iron Heart forum, updating both threads with announcements, pictures, and "Special Events" throughout the 24 month period.
My question is, if I were to do this, would any of you guys potentially be interested in signing up for the competition?
If so, great, if not thats cool too I just wanted to offer up the option to my closest internet buddies
I will post up more information if there is sufficient interest.

Actually Scroogen, if you pay in USD with me, you are paying in USD. Same goes for GBP and Eur. I have 3 merchant accounts, one for each currency.
What's the benefit of having multiple merchant accounts for each currency when an international buyer is going to be charged foreign transaction fees anyways?

Cheers Rafa, looks like the madness will begin again, over the last few months I have had so many enquiries about doing another comp that I decided to start putting the organisation in now. It's a delicate thing as I don't want to shit on the comp thats still running, but I also don't want to be in a disorganised rush in February for the next comp.
As a result, I have decided to canvas some opinions now, get all the feedback I can, and see who wants to be involved at any level. I know we've lost half of the original field from when the first competition started, but I guess thats to be expected, and it has still been very successful and produced some beautifully worn heavy denim.
I'm thinking about this in two ways…

I would love to promote this new comp to the extreme, and make it the biggest and best denim comp ever. More participants, better prizes, meet ups, special event weeks etc.... That would truly be something very special, and extremely possible with the level of interest I've had so far.

If I can't do it that way, then I might strip it back a little. Make it smaller, more exclusive, and solely compete for the belt.
I must admit that option 1 appeals to me the most, but option 2 also has its own charm.

I like the idea…my interest is perked for sure.

I'm not sure how this works, but it sounds like a good excuse to buy a pair. I'm in, too.

Mega, are you going to run this through Superfuture again? It seems to me to be dying on its feet, this forum now has more posts per day than the whole Superdenim forum!
Have we every had a comp on the IH forum, could you do something over here?
Sorry i cant be part of it as I'm in the Ooe Yofukuten comp untill march 2014, if it lasts that long?

IJ - SUFU and its members will only be "here" if it is ok with G and the mod team, and if they are wearing Iron Heart. Anything else would simply be pictures (posted by me),and announcements (made by me). I just wanted too give people here the chance to get involved in something that has been really fun, and quite large in scale, without having to sign up to SUFU. As Iron Heart was by far the most popular competition brand last time it seemed more than logical to involve Iron Hearts most passionate and loyal customers., us.
Simon - SUFU (particularly Superdenim) is perhaps not what it once was, and I believe that much of that is owed to the speed problems caused by the last software upgrade. But trust me when I say that the HWDC attracts more than its share of interest, and the amount of PMs I have had regarding running a second comp makes the idea more than worthwhile for me. Check out the existing thread over there and look at some of the long worn pairs, that alone makes me proud of the contest, and the commitment of its participants.
