I've had the TV on in the background this evening, and there were a few exported British property shows on.
In a weird piece of synchronicity, each featured a place I've got some degree of connection to.
-
The first featured a couple from Ulverston, which is where I grew up.
-
The next involved the restoration of a boat in Gosport. OK, it's tenuous, but…
-
Then there was a loft conversion in Brighton, I lived there for a time.
-
And finally a house up for auction and renovation in Southfields, London. Which is where some good friends of mine live.
I hope that someone isn't trying to sell me something. Then again, the Southfields house looks grim, so I don't think that I should be planning on a return trip just yet.
are you talking about escape to the country???

lol. that's the show my uncle would religiously watch. he's a brit, always mocked him " if you want to go back to england that much, then go. no point watching the show." though, some of the houses there are beautiful. but i'd doubt i'd appreciate the countryside.

Someone will know if they're real.

There are some nice places on it.
Continuing my theme of synchronicity with British TV, I just turned over and caught the last 30 seconds of an episode. It had a house on it that belonged to one of my father's cousins! :o

@steelworker it's a crime that hotel is being taken down.
Unfortunately, as the article says, Asians tend to be a lot less precious about old buildings. I was chatting to a Chinese friend a while back and mentioned a very cool Seidler house that's up for sale in Sydney. She reckoned the best thing would be to knock it down and replace it! :o

Was finally offered the position I've been filling in for the past several months. The pay increase is a bit lower than I expected, but almost literally nothing I can do about it. Still very very happy to be out of a 'fixed-term' position, and after a few more months I'll be so locked into the University that my job security should be exceptionally strong. Wanted to thank everyone over the years who have always been awesome to me on the forum. And no matter how many times @Seul refers to me as a crazed lunatic… well, he's mostly still correct ;P

Fantastic to hear that, Jestre. It hasn't been an easy road for you over the past few years, so it's nice to see you getting something good.

Great news, I am sure you are feeling a bit of relief!
