As evidenced by our respective posts quoted here, I don’t even know how to spell it…..you on the other hand [emoji3166]
I actually don’t have it, but I spend about 80% of my life around inbetweeners who breath it in like oxygen, so I have reluctantly gained some insight. My oldest son tells me the algo works like digital crack. Even for boomers like us.

now you have to (try to) explain the rules to me next time we meet
I once had a student write an academic article about his attempt to learn the rules of cricket. It was about 17 years ago and sadly I don’t have it anymore but it was both very good and husterically funny.

These?
You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out.
When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game -

Most common response when I try to explain test cricket to my friends: "So it could take up to five days and end in a draw? That's just stupid!"

That's one funny thing about British Sports, there is usually lots of Alkohol involved ;). Pimm's that's Ascot or is it Wimbledon? Nasty stuff, especially when it's hot. Tastes like lemonade… and suddenly you don't know how to keep the feet on the ground. As a student I visited a friend during Eights Week, can't remember ever been more drunken

@Chap :D. I once went to a minor league baseball game (double header), where the weather was gorgeous (warm and sunny) and we had fantastic seats that were front row on the first base line. The beer was especially good that day and I had my fair share. The batter hit a line drive towards us and in my drunken stupor, I reached out over the railing to try and catch the ball, promptly falling over the railing and landing on the field.
My friends helped me back into the stands and we decided it was better to go home before we were asked to.

I dunno, I might put up a Masshole at a Bruins game, a Sconnie at a Packers game, Philadelphia sports fans anywhere, etc against just about anyone for alcohol consumption at a sporting event, but I could be way off. Pimm's Cup is a Wimbledon tradition, no? I have no idea why someone invented Pimm's (serious, WTF is it supposed to be?), but a Pimm's Cup is IMO very refreshing on a hot day–there's a reason New Orleans seized onto it so fiercely.

My most embarrassing moment at a sports game (that I can recall) was at an Avalanche (ice hockey) game. There was a family in front of us and a kind of awkward teen son in front of me. Somehow I managed to spill beer on my seat, and for some reason my instinct was to rake it off the seat, showering the kid in front of me with beer. I was mortified. We slunk out of the game like Homer Simpson disappearing into a hedge.

Moral Compass mode disabled…..
JD SPORTS....
"Executive chairman Peter Cowgill's total pay, including a short-term salary reduction, reached nearly £5m.
Shareholder advisory group Glass Lewis recommends that investors vote against JD Sports' "inappropriate" pay policy.
The retailer received £61m through the UK furlough scheme and an estimated £38m in business rates relief.
It benefitted from an additional £25m in wage support from other countries where it operates, including the US.
JD Sports was also granted a £300m loan through the Bank of England's Covid Corporate Financing Facility Scheme which was set up to help larger firms through the pandemic."

I am now getting a phone call every day from the track and trace team. Whilst I support the initiative, asking me the same questions every time is beginning to wear a bit thin.
e.g.
Q - Have you arrived from a foreign country recently?
A - Well I said yes the last 2 times you called, but I've now changed my mind - WTF do you think?Today, when I asked do they not keep a record of what I answered previously, the person on the other end of the phone said, "we have your previous answers in front of us, but we have to ignore them when going through the script"
Does someone not realize how counterproductive it is to piss people off. I am a massive believer in doing what is necessary to get us rid of this scourge, but Jesus I could top the next fucker who phones me up….
