This feature is not as apparent as perhaps it should be.  To set Quick Reply as a default, do the following

In profile/modify profile/Look and Layout, there is a "Use quick reply on topic display" drop down box.  Set it to "show, on by default".

When you are viewing a topic and want to post a quick reply, just scroll to the bottom of the page and type your post in the quick reply box

When finished typing, you can either post directly or preview.  Preview gives you the option of adding smileys/changing font etc.

Like to add a note. You need to push "quick reply" located at the bottom left for the box to appear

Intersting, I don't.  It is always there.  Perhaps there is an "enable quick reply" option in profile.  I'll take a look…..

I have just enabled quick reply in all users' profiles. This feature is way too handy to miss out on it.

Thanks for letting me know that I can actually disable this feature… I'm an emoticon man, I need those in my posts!..

After you have typed your post in quick reply, you can preview and add any emoticons you want to.  In my case, this is what I do, as I always have to check my post anyway, as my typing is so shite…

That's what I used to do, but I'm a pretty good (blind) typer when I haven't been drinking so… S'all good...

I've been having some issues on my iPad in both Safari and Terra browsers since quick reply got introduced: I can type a reply in QR, but cannot post it, and in preview or in the old fashioned reply I just cannot type anything anymore(?) … I can switch to tapatalk to reply, but still not really convenient ... Anyone else had this?

I noticed another issue, if I use the normal reply function, the text box is not closed (limited) any more on the right side, so that
I have to hit enter to get in the next line, hope this makes sence to you shoque

Please try to clear your browser cache if you experience the bug with the input text box using the normal reply function.

Thanks for your input, could anybody else confirm this? Unfortunately I don't have an Apple device to test this behavior.
