I used to hand wash my IH denim with Samurai Soap results are similar but the smell is not so great, definitely prefer the machine after trying both.

All I did soak it from start like you did.
Put the elbow grease into you gets result.
Even then they’re complaining they can’t handle the 25oz jeans.

25oz jeans are comfortable compared to these man for sure. But I like the scratchiness of the Lefty, call me crazy or even masochistic...but I like the raw rugged nature of the denim. Makes me feel geared up to the max.
