Companion Denim

Didn't see a Companion Denim topic yet so I figured I'd add one as the brand is very deserving.
The below jeans are the custom order Iu made for me right at a year ago. I would say they are my current favorites at the moment. Literally every detail on the jeans was discussed and made per my request(s). Turned out very good. First three photos below were taken by Iu immediately after completing. The others were done by me with about 11 months of wear. Denim is a 15 Oz. red cast Japanese denim using Zimbabwe cotton.

Thanks @Dion I think the hidden arcs are probably my favorite detail about the pair. Since they're raised they get a little more wear to them and kind of act as a barometer for how worn the jeans are.

Hi BloodnThunder, I like the level of customisation and the quality of the workmanship in your jeans!
Were the jeans specification and ordering process carried out face-to-face or by emails and/or telephone? And how did you decide on which denim cloth to use? I ask you as I was wondering who could do something bespoke for me.

Hey @C64 everything was done through e-mail. I basically made a laundry list of things I wanted and Iu asked me questions where needed to make sure he knew exactly what I was asking for. Many of the details on my jeans weren't his stock options so I had a solid 40 e-mail string with him before he got to work on them. Iu also sent me a PDF version of a book he has which outlines all the current denims and threads he has available. Each swatch is a close up view so you have a good idea what you're getting without actually handling the denim before buying. Iu is also happy to answer any questions about the denim or steer you in the right direction depending on what you're looking for.

Thanks for the reply to my questions. The pair you got made up certainly reflect the level of detail and input from both sides. I think that a custom pair from Companion will be a 2017 project, ideally in double indigo, and once I have thought about the details that I would like.

Definitely a wise choice. Yeah can get very granular in what you want, and Iu can cover just about any request, so it's best to spend some time thinking and looking at a lot of jeans to decide what you want the most. A lot of the details on my pair were pulled from details I saw on other makers jeans.
