Color looks ok to me focus in the 3rd picture -I like the way the pocket looks, 1st picture focus is in middle of shot toward the patch I like the W's a lot, ask Sam about composition and you'll have an opinion worth reading. As for me, I like them, I have UHR's and I think you nailed it, Mike.

Bought these second hand from @Cole. They fit like a glove. It's a nice change from my 555XHSib cut. I dig them both but these are more comfortable. Super to happy to fade these to white and put my mark on them. Second pair of IH denim jeans.
Wearing with IHSH-140 12oz western CPO
101J Rider's Jacket 18oz

Thumbs up for super cool thread bump. I have a pair of these myself that are too big for me now, but fortunately scored the IH-888-UHR when they arrived. Wonderful denim, verging on legendary, and look good on you sir.
Thanks man I finally feel that I have completed my wardrobe. Really looking forward to the evo.
Sucks about your pair, did you end up selling them here? At least you were able to replace them with another pair of UHR. You were totally right about the fabric. It's unreal. Has IH ever made a UHR jacket?

Only ever made into jeans I believe. It was a bugger to make and worse to sew, by all accounts. I expect the reasons why there has never been an XHS jacket apply here too.
No worries in my old pair. They fit for a few years and we’re loved. I’m about 10kg lighter than I was then though. They were up for sale here and received some lowball offers but I still have them. Might try again one day.

Making a jacket out of 25oz is super tough. Sewing the sleeves in particular IIRC. A UHR Type III would be crazy. Can't imagine how tough it'd be first wear!
Yeah it is the eventual thickness of the felled shoulder seams and the joint with the side seams that makes and XHS jacket a no go. The felled seams on UHR seem even thicker, and as you say there is very little give in the UHR compared to the XHS. A theoretical beast of a jacket.

I would frickin' love a type II or III of either XHS or UHR. Maybe one day the denim demons will reveal their secrets…
