We’re up in WV visiting family and we decided to check out an antique mall in a neighboring town.
Saw these really stopwatches (priced really well IMO) but ended up buying this B17 Flying Fortress compass for a song. The dial has a beautifully aged radium/tritium paint and it still works smoothly and flawlessly.
I don’t normally go for military collectibles, but I thought it was too cool to pass up.

Got this Mister Freedom Campus jacket in the mail Wednesday and immediately started tanning it. I loved the process with my belt so much, and it’s 30% off right now, so figured there’s not a better time to buy. Really beautiful leather! -
So, I'm into science-fiction, and I recently have invested into to SF-themed paintings. Those are from a French artist named Manchu (real name Philippe Bouchet), who was the main illustrator for the SF collection of "Le Livre de Poche", a large mass-market paperback publisher in France. Here they are. The first one is for the book "Sundiver" by David Brin, which is the first book of his Uplift series. The second was the cover for "Citizen of the Galaxy" by Robert Heinlein. Both of those are most excellent books.
Manchu is still very much active and producing great SF art. Look him up on FB and IG if you're interested.

I even went to see the original manuscript at the University of California Santa Cruz. Cool destinatin for any who wishes to grok.

Can't say I ever thought I'd see UCSC mentioned on here. I'll have to check it out if I ever get back to campus.

I had a girlfriend attend there, while i was attending Humboldt State University, about 7 hours north of Santa Cruz. What a beautiful campus, both UCSC and HSU, redwoods everywhere and ocean views.
Speaking of Science Fiction, anybody read the three body problem trilogy. Wild stuff. honestly I have to reread it, last time was during a drinking while reading phase…
