IH-1955-UHR - Ultra Heavy Raw 1955 Cut
-
@Snowy I've worn mine a few times, probably about 2 weeks in total. Mine are tight in the waistband but have room for movement elsewhere, without being baggy. I'm hoping to get a new phone with a 13 megapixel camera soon so may be able to post better pics than my previous efforts. I tried out my 666 UHR last night - they are a fantastic fit, better than XHS 666s and the fly seems to be lower than on those, too.

I found this, looks easy enough!!

The 55's are effin great. For a heavyweight they're remarkably comfortable after only a few wears. Along with the Roy 02's my favorite.

Should have picked up another pair before they ran out of my size. Argh. See also 1st world problems.

Hi,
I already own a few kickstarter denim ( Gustin, RPMWest ) and I want to buy a new jean but with better quality. 3 cut/brand get my attention : IH 1955 ; FH 3009 and Fullcount 1101.
I want to have roomy thigh ( particulary in the upper thigh ) but with a little taper ( I have big thigh but small calf ). Can anyone tell more about those cuts ?
And what means " middle straight " ?Thank you a lot
Aymeric

Yes, I saw this ( very useful ) post and this is why the 1955 cut is the IH's cut that I prefer ( roomy tapered ) but it is not the only cut which is straight/regular/roomy tapered. And it is the reason why I want to know if someone here get this jean and can compare with the FC or FH jean I quoted. Or if in your opinion this cut could work for my physique ( I have muscled thighs and skinny calf ).

@ayX I own the Fullcount 1101 and have tried on the Flat Head 3009 too. The IH 1955 model has a very different top block, especially compared to the 3009 - being much higher rise both front and back. The thigh on the 1955 is also wider than both of the other models. Of all the IH cuts, I think the 633 from Self Edge would be the closest to the 1101 and the 3009, though I haven't the time to compare measurements. Nothing wrong with a 1950s cut though…

The 633 looks great but being a French consumer I prefer jeans to be shipped from England to avoid customs fees… The IH 1955 has wider thigh and smaller leg opening than the 1101 ( and high rise for both of them ) so it's more what I'm looking for. I think I will choose between the FH 3009 and IH 1955. Thank you for your advices !

You've probably already made your decision but I own the 1955-UHR and Fullcount 1101. The denim, of course, is very different with the FC being much lighter and softer and the 1955 being heavy weight and rugged in feel. The IH is also bluer and not quite as dark in color as either the 1101 or heavier 1101XX. Both have a nice high rise and are quite roomy in the top block, as you know. The IH is wider through the hips and since the denim is heavier, there'll be some hip flare until the denim settles in. If you can afford both, I think you'd like both. Despite fit similarities, the denim is so different – IH-1955 is a tough, rugged, very casual pair of jeans vs. the Fullcount, which is a little more tailored. Also, the IH uses poly-cotton stitching, so much longer wearing than the all-cotton FC.
I love my IH-1955-UHR. Maybe this isn't IH's most popular cut but it's my favorite. I wish they'd introduce a similar cut with a darker indigo color. The current color tends almost towards a royal blue.
Another cut you should look at is the Samurai 510 (e.g., 0510XX). This comes in various denim weights. I have the 15 oz. Texas cotton -- roughly textured, more so than even the IH-1955-UHR.

Great idea Giles. I'll give it a go when they're back in stock.
Can't imagine that there are too many of you out there, but if anyone has owned both the 1955-UHR and 1955S, it would be great to hear how they wear and compare.
