John Lofgren (Speedway)
-
Hey this is my first post and I have some questions for y'all.
I'm an American (I don't think there's a US fourm?) And I recently got some Lofgren shirts (Ashida workwear and white chambray (new, may sell) in size Medium) and am wondering where to search if I want to buy some Large ones preowned? Seems rhere aren'r many avenues, even in Japan to buy Lofgren products preowned.
In addition, how does sizing work? I'm generally an 8E UK in Crockett & Jones, Red Wings, etc.

Welcome, my American bro! This is an international forum, so you're in the right place
I would check Grailed for used clothing. That or eBay.

Here they are after a good wipe down and a couple of brushings. The trip out west did them a lot of good… I bet I hiked 30 or 40 miles in them. -

Hey Euro (?) Bro! I've checled both and it seems I got really lucky at $40ish a shirt. I don't see any Lofgren products anywhere outside of Ebay or Grailed. I'm always on a hunt for deals. I was surprosed when I got the chambray shirt it was brand new with tags.

The leather on the causeway engineers is amazing! It kinda looks like burl wood
-
Looks great! I ordered some M43's in the same leather at the Standard & Strange MTO event, very curious how they will turn out..

Dark cherry shinki leather is by far the strangest leather I’ve ever seen. I will tell you something that no one told me… it water spots immediately if it encounters anything remotely wet and the spots do not come out.
I got tiny spots on mine washing my hands. Thought it would come out when it dried, Nope cleaning leather usually evens out spots… I’ll try that. That made a huge water spot right in the middle of the toe that never came out. 10 times worse that what I had to begin with and the rag I used was just damp with no cleaning products ??? WTF
Ok but here is the good news, that made me quit babying them! And just last week I got caught in some misty fog in San Francisco that spotted up the entire boot. Now the spot is blended in with all the other spots and you can’t even see it. They have a very unique look to them and get noticed a lot -
It's nice to see how that Shinki is aging. Also really cool to see pics of that leather that're a little more natural vs the studio lighting from S&S or the Lofgren site. I feel like that sort of scaliness must be really bumped up in those studio shots because yours pleasantly don't have that super exaggerated look going, rather just very nice looking leather. I dunno, am I weird for not wanting my horse boots to look like alligator or something? Not that I think they look bad, just not into that vibe as much.
Anyway, the tldr version is that these shots are making me more amped at the idea of picking up some of the all black engineers during next year's MTO. I need to get a 12.5.

@popvulture The reason I pickup up this particular pair is because of that very thing… the shaft and heel area of the boots are crazy textured like gators but the front panel of leather on both boots is smooth.
You can see it pretty good here. I think it’s the best of both worlds -
Ah yeah man, I totally feel you on that choice! I dig the texturing up on the shaft, really just the perfect amount overall. Lucky pair to snag!
-
I’m really grateful to have them. I got them near new from another forum member here He posted a few pictures and I fell in love with this pair. Super happy I was able to pick them up (Probably why I keep posting pictures of them)

Ha, nah, I'm in southern California You?
Yeah, you just have to set a search up on eBay and Grailed for certain brands and have it email you. That's what I would do in the past. Have my coffee and scour the Grailed entries for gems
Takes patience, but I found a ton of stuff on there!

New Jersey, hour south of NYC. Even in NYC I doubt there's much of John Lofgren. Seems before the pandemic the re were more opportunities to buy them 2nd hand. Seems the price remains at around $5/600 used
-
Not sure if this is the section but I just saw these the other day on the Lofgren site. Really wish I saw in time to get my size. Hopefully they do another run.
-
Oh those are slick @deanclean
Love me a nice roper style boot!! -
It’s tough though. I want a pair of Wescos too!

Since yesterday i’m a proud owner of this beautiful pair Engineers! Thanks @Daniel San for hooking me up with these
