Introduce Yourself Here

@Mizmazzle about 10 years now, 8 of those years full time.
-
@Mizmazzle @jdwaid one of the benefits of teaching undergrads, for me at least, was being able to tell them that they were all there of their own free will and could always just leave if they didn't want to be there. Shut them up most of the time. But I guess that's not an option for you guys
-
@Tago-Mago best I can do is try and help them see how lucky they are to be in school. Which for many of them goes over like a lead balloon.
-
Call me Ishmael.
No, hang on, just being facetious.
So hello everyone, happy to be here, but in truth not, since I don't actually own a pair of IHs.
Working on remedying that.

Are these IH kosher? 634z? Never heard of them. I know the 634s.
Google only shows the eBay listings for this mysterious 634z...prices range from USD 199 to USD 205 +.
Again, are these authentic? No selvedge. Zip fly. Leather patch looks ok, but who can tell these days?
P S In a previous life I ran web/software firm, among our services were managing online forums. It always galled me where sites/forums did not update something as simple as a date. This forum's date is 2022. Does anybody care?
-
@Amko This is the link to the 634z thread: https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/topic/5371/ih-634z-21oz-denim-straight-cut-jeans-indigo?_=1711458468881

IH-634Z are Kosher, we used to stock them but people who apparently cant read would buy them and then return them because they were not selvedge. The denim also does not have as much character as the selvedge 21oz, but the cut is arguably better because the pattern is not constrained by having to have parallel outseams.
Is the copyright date date not when a significant new version is released? If so, 2022 is accurate.

@Goosehd: Thank you for the link. Checked out the page and I was happy to note this:
I would absolutely rock these-I prefer button flys but I am less and less concerned about that or selvedge anymore. I'd get them hemmed no cuff right to the floor. 21oz is just a bit heavy for these humid Philly summers I'd be all in. - StarsSuck
I have enough selvedge from Japan by now and that is all I have been using. Perhaps a non-selvedge, with a great non-parallel cut as Giles says, and wind-proof, ideal for the bike, might be a welcome change.
I will allow myself to be guided by you (both) - and of course @Haraki-san - in this matter.
Oh, another thing: from my time in the States - just outside Daytona Beach, Orlando Fl. - I've lost track of the amount of times I've inadvertently scorched my jeans on the Harley. Hopefully a 21 oz. will mitigate my bad riding.
Giles: I'll let you know re: the 634z. Thanks!
-
Greetings, Giles!
Got my first IH-666s Devil's Fit![alt text](image url) jean: IH-666s-21 oz. in indigo.
And here is my current ride.

@Amko Great pair of jeans and hope you enjoy them! Love to hear your thoughts and some fit pics when you get them.
Just to let you know I moved your post here to the introduce yourself thread. Once you get your jeans I can move those posts to the 21-666 thread and if you have some more pics of your bike, can move those to the motorcycles thread.
Edit: Hope you don’t mind me moving your thread with your previous experience managing online forums. Where did you work or what forums did you manage?

@Amko welcome here!

@goosehd Hi again!
@Heavy_blue Thanks for the warm welcome. Very happy to be here.
I am from India originally. My first job was in advertising, worked a number of positions in the Middle East - Dubai, UAE, Muscat, Oman, Amman, Jordan, then in London, UK, and then in New York, NY., Orlando, FL. (in 1999) which was home base for our software development/digital marketing company. Online forums managed: Toyota, Honda, Chrysler, Volvo, National/Panasonic, Sanyo, Toshiba and IKEA - now these were all out of the UAE and focused on Middle East markets. At the risk of sounding pompous, these were first-of-their-kind projects. The online forums were all bespoke.
In 1999 I set up India's first digital marketing company, moving to the US to service several e-commerce start-ups. This was the so-called offshore development era. Yours truly typically traveled to India 4-6 times a year to liaise with customers in the States and software developers back in India.
On the personal front: I'm back in India, live near Mumbai (Bombay), semi-retired at 57, my wife also works with a 2-billion dollar product development software global enterprise and my daughter just qualified for the Bar (intellectual property lawyer, working at a leading IP development firm) and is hugely obsessed with LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton).
The 666s will take 4-7 days to reach Mumbai and thereafter will go into the black hole of Mumbai Customs. The arcane workings of said MC are best left to the imagination. Then there is a hefty Customs Clearance cost - 31 to 35% of the invoice price, depends on the 'mood' of the Customs Examiner, who at the best of times are a jealous and spiteful bunch. But we men of Iron must soldier on, heart within and God overhead.
Looking forward to keeping you all posted, men of the Iron Cloth!

@Amko welcome again! And thanks for sharing your story! Can’t wait to see you rock those 666!
-
@Beans welcome dude!
-
@Beans Happy to meet you and welcome (back), Ian.
Shed some light on your Sufu/Supertalk days? I came late to the party.
Best wishes,
Amko -
nice to meet ya!
Sufu (Superfuture) was an amazing forum/resource during a time (2000s??) when there really wasnt a central place where people could share and learn about (mostly) mens fashion.
It was a place where I first learned about Self Edge (SF), EDC, Denim in general, WAYWT and IH (amongst lots of other culture/fashion things)!!
Sad to see when reddit showed up but it was similar to the IH board which i am very very happy to now be a part of!

Hi, I can't believe I'm back here (and also back to wearing raw denim again since the last time in 2014), It's never too late for everything right? This morning I just placed an online order from Iron Heart Germany for the last piece of IH-634S-UHR size 30 lol, I'm so hyped. Anyway, I live in Italy and looking forward to this forum.
-
@rnl welcome dude! Enjoy your UHR
