Oh? Thats very good info to have. Then why would one want a double mid?

Only my opinion. I don't know. Maybe if you live in the frozen North it's a good idea but to me boots are heavy enough without adding double mids.

A few plausible reasons:
1. The looks - the double mid-sole goes great with #705 half sole and the uninterrupted heel-stack
2. Insulation - something to consider at least for those of us living in the vicinity of the arctic circle
3. Added height - there’s a reason multiple midsoles are popular in Japan etc.

Protection, solidity, strength, durability (and because they look badass [emoji1]) It’s the the same deal as wearing jeans over 20oz, they just need taming. Doesn’t take too long.
To be fair, if you’re not used to Engineers and/or leather midsoles you’ll be walking funny anyway for a while.

The 7400's totally digging these …the winter salt and general wear and tear has the sole..heel worn the brownish colour has worn to a lighter colour . .any remedies? perhaps brown shoe polish ?
I've meaning to give you a heads up but haven't had the time…. Use white vinegar cut have and half with water and bathe the affected areas with it. This will draw out at least some of the salt. repeat a couple of times for best results. The process will also dry the leather out some so have some oil/wax on hand to replenish the midsoles after they've the vinegar solution wash has dried. You can re-paint them afterwards.

Ordered these a few days ago
They should look similar to these but I added a Vibram 2021 sole.
I wear an 11.5D in Aldens & Vibergs. Do you think a 12E will fit? Thanks.

Looks like a cool build ….I'm a 9.5E in Alden's and 9.5D in Viberg and a 10D in Wesco

@theorocks Do you have engineers? If so how is the Shafter of the boot? Im only concerned about my foot being able to navigate down the shaft.

Yes I have engineers the Wesco 7400 a little snug getting on at first now they are perfect …The viberg engineers I had were a lot harder to get on and off

Ok it’s been a while since I’ve checked in , but had to share that both my custom pairs have come in and I couldn’t be happier. You say , why two pair? Well because I’m truelly a sicko and once I saw the knuckle dragger green horween from S and S, i just had to have them . made the call to Neil and he hooked it up. Mind you this is right after I just put in an order with Kyle at bakers. Both guys are awesome to deal with, and both went the extra mile to make a customer happy. Love this site and this forum … its nice to know that I’m not alone in this world....

I wanted to wait till they got here but Chris over at Wesco sent me this pic and I had to share with someone (my wife couldn’t care less ::))
Custom Warren in burlap roughout with a heel inspired by TBWE-PO….I think this may be my regular boot for a very, very long time.
Nice boots but what's the "Warren", then? Packer with a… Boss toe? Do I spy a 1/4" raised heel?

@Crit_Obs Its a packer with Wesco's bump toe (same toe as with the TBWE-PO). I was told its a #9109 shoe last). Its named after Chris Warren (he's tagged above), the main man over at Wesco. He is a super cool guy and really held my hand throughout this process. I have owned Nick's, White's, Vibergs, and RWs and Wesco's has been the best in terms of customer service, quality, and build time. I am a true convert.
I did add the extra lift. I usually prefer that, but we will see with these how it looks…I may have overdone it with the shortened rubber heel.
@jdl1279 has a pair too and has posted a bunch of pictures around here and on IG
