White's Boots

MY very first pair of SD's had leather soles and cuban heels and gripped surprisingly well. You'll be fine and the boots look great, congrats.

I have gone A over T a few times on leather soled shoes. My Dad used to score his with a knife until they were worn in and less slippy. I take mine to the cobblers too @Finkster saves a potentially bruised bum and if your slip takes place in public a battered ego! [emoji57]

Having recently acquired the Armageddon boots I have started the process of dying them. The pictures show the boots very early in the dying process and the colour was quite a shock to me. I am hoping to achieve an oxblood colour with one more coat of dye and then with the application of oxblood polish.

Why choose single or double midsole? Purely aesthetic preference or… there must be a practical reason as well, no?

Continuation from my previous post and the dying process of my Armageddon boots is complete.
Cheers to @Megatron1505 and @nicecrackaction.@NorthernVictory : Midsole - Single, Double, or Triple? The thicker the midsole the greater the protection (stepping on a nail) and for their supposed added durability. There's also an aesthetic element, as some people think a taller boot should have a thicker midsole. There is also the added height provided by the additional midsole. Finally, the Japanese market often want the thickest midsole available and when Mega acquired these particular boots I understand he was into the Japanese look.

Oh hi! These are my new buddies.
Ok folks. Yay or nay on the kilties? I'm thinking they look a little posery.
-
-
I'd go without the Kilties.. Or you could trim the fronts have a straight edge close to the first eyelets..
-
@riffblaster general, kilties all the way.
-
Without. Definitely a cleaner, less "Hey! Check out my lumberjack boots!" vibe that way.
-
i feel like the kilties make the boot look strangely small. like they throw the proportions off. i can't quite explain it.
i mean on my pair of course…. they actually look awesome on yours den1mhead

same thought i had.

Also agree on no kilties. I think the fact that your sole isn't lugged makes the boot look less lumberjack-ish. The big thing for me is the contrast between the color and texture of the two leathers. If the kilties were the same leather as the boots I think they would look really good. But regardless those boots look really clean without the kilties.

Upon reflection I have worn kilties with my IHVB-03CT but now I wear them without and much prefer the cleaner look.
However, I love my IH kilties with my Whites SJ's
